A Big Life: The Next Big Small Appliance

Small appliances can make a big difference in your life. Here are some of Sissy's tips for choosing and purchasing small appliances:
  1. Do your small appliance homework. Know what you are looking for and compare brands and models to determine which is best for you and your family.
  2. Clip photos, information and articles about various products you are interested in. Create a file so that when you are ready to buy or if there is a sale on a brand or product that you recognize, you can refer back to your research to make an informed decision.
  3. When purchasing appliances, small or large, find out what type of warranties or service contracts the manufacturer supplies. Remember to find out if there are any delivery charges if you don't want to take your purchase with you or if there is an installation cost.
  4. Microwave ovens, toaster ovens, slow cookers and other smaller appliances use up to 75 percent less energy than a large electric oven. This makes them a wise alternative when heating small meals for the kids.
  5. Don't be afraid to express your style. Many small appliances are available in fun, hot colors or trendy finishes. Find out what is available for the appliance you are searching for. If a pink coffee maker will make you happy, go for it!
