A Big Life: Easy Being
Green
Sissy and environmentalist Josh Dorfman
give A Big Life the dirt on how to save the environment and improve your
Big Life:
- When shopping for wood furniture, look for the Forest Stewardship
Counsel (FSC) label. If an item has the FSC stamp of approval, the
product has been manufactured in a way that allows the forest it came
from to continue to flourish.
- Think sustainable. We want our environment to stay clean and healthy
for future generations. It is vital to think about the impact of
products you use today, on tomorrow.
- Look for recycled products. Who knew you could make a toothbrush
from old yogurt containers!? Well you can. Products like this are not
only better for the earth, they make us feel good about what we use in
our everyday Big Life.
- Go organic...and not just with your veggies. Think of all the
pesticides and other chemicals that may be going into your clothing.
Next time you shop, check the label for organic grown cotton and other
materials.
- Clean green energy is what it's all about! Renewable energy sources
such as solar, wind, geothermal, biogas, biomass and low-impact hydro
are efficient ways to reduce the impact of conventional electricity.
