A Big Life Halloween: Up Your Scare
Quotient!
Here are some of Sissy's tips for telling a
truly scary ghost story:
- Set the mood. Don't tell a ghost story in broad daylight.
- Keep your audience small. This allows you to have eye contact with
each audience member.
- Draw people in right away& you want to suck them in with the
first sentence.
- Try to make people relate to the story that you are telling. Make
people feel as though it could have been them in the story.
- Talk as though you are imparting a secret to the audience. Get them
to lean in to listen to what you are saying.
- Keep your voice calm thoughout the story and then hit them with a
forceful ending.
- Enlist the help of friends to create sound effects.
- Make yourself look spooky with makeup, so it's not just one friend
telling another a ghost story.
