A Big Life Halloween: Up Your Scare Quotient!

Here are some of Sissy's tips for telling a truly scary ghost story:
  1. Set the mood. Don't tell a ghost story in broad daylight.
  2. Keep your audience small. This allows you to have eye contact with each audience member.
  3. Draw people in right away& you want to suck them in with the first sentence.
  4. Try to make people relate to the story that you are telling. Make people feel as though it could have been them in the story.
  5. Talk as though you are imparting a secret to the audience. Get them to lean in to listen to what you are saying.
  6. Keep your voice calm thoughout the story and then hit them with a forceful ending.
  7. Enlist the help of friends to create sound effects.
  8. Make yourself look spooky with makeup, so it's not just one friend telling another a ghost story.
