A Big Life: Mind Your
Manners
Proper table manners will help you and
your guests enjoy a beautiful meal in A Big Life. Here are some of Sissy's
tips:
- Gracious dining is a big game of Simon Says. Unless your host or
hostess does something, you are not allowed to do something.
- AWhen you leave the table, placing your napkin on your chair says
that you are coming back.
- Placing your napkin on the table means that you are finished and you
will not be returning.
- Spitting a bone or gristle into your napkin is considered gauche.
Don't do it.
- Once a utensil has been used, it should never touch the tabletop.
- Eyeglasses and cell phones should never be placed on the table.
- Do not blow your nose at the table.
- When the check arrives, it's only a once back and forth and then you
let the person who has offered to pay take care of the bill. If you are
the Simon, don't even let the check come to the table so there is no
argument.
