A Big Life Pasta Al
Forno
Making an authentic Pasta Al Forno can be
easy and fun. Here are some of Sissy's tips:
- Don't overcook your noodles. Cut a minute or two off the
cooking time to have a firm noodle--the best consistency in a baking
dish.
- You can surely cut corners by using a good quality bottle
sauce. Read the labels and look for the brand with the fewest
number of fresh ingredients. Noodles will also absorb the sauce when
cooking so you really can't combine it with too much marinara or tomato
sauce.
- Bake a second, small casserole and keep it in the freezer. For easy
single or multiple serving dinners anytime, simply thaw in the microwave
and reheat. Serve with extra sauce and cheese on the side.
- Experiment with your own taste buds and family preferences by adding
other vegetables and meats to your baked pasta.
- Experiment with adding different cheeses, grated and chunked, to get
a gooey, yummy casserole.
- Bread crumbs dotted with butter or margarine on top give that crusty
topped texture that can really make a Pasta al Forno.
