Look out New York: Disney's "Jessie" is coming to
town Friday. The Big Apple's newest addition is thrown to the curb right off the
bat, but she lands on her feet as the new nanny for Emma, Ravi, Luke and Zuri,
the rowdy kids of big-time movie director Morgan and supermodel-turned-business
mogul Christina. Jessie proves to be one cool cat, but cast members Peyton List, Karan Brar, Cameron Boyce and Skai Jackson will
tell you portrayer Debby Ryan has her beat.
"Jessie" premieres Friday, Sept. 30, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Disney
MSN TV: What's the story on "Jessie"?
Debby Ryan (Jessie): "Jessie" is about a girl who moves to the Upper East
Side and ends up being a nanny for this high-profile couple and their four
Skai Jackson (Zuri): She comes from Texas to find her dreams, and I find her
off the street and pull her in!
Debby Ryan: So Jessie is juggling finding herself at 18 in New York, which
has this energy unlike anything else, and being accountable for four children,
one of which is always on her hip and has imaginary friends and imaginary
bullies. Another is always hitting on her. There's also a 7-foot lizard,
and the butler really isn't much help.
Kevin Chamberlin (Bertram): Bertram,
the butler, has been with the family a long time. He's the cynic. He's very wary
of Jessie, because they've been through a long line of nannies. He's seen all
these kids born or adopted, and he's abused a lot by them. I've been
paintballed, had fruit salad in my face and, today, I'm falling off the kitchen
Debby Ryan: It's this crazy, chaotic scene, but there's also super-cute
fashion and a sweet penthouse. And there's a super-hot doorman!

The Ross kids have sent countless nannies running. What is Jessie in
Skai Jackson: Zuri knows what she wants, and she wants what she wants. She's
running things. She comes from Africa, but she knows the New York vibe. She also
hangs out with her imaginary friend Millie the Mermaid a lot.
Cameron Boyce (Luke): Luke is a handful. When he's not into mischief, he's
flirting with Jessie. He's got some crazy moves. He can't get enough of her.
Peyton List (Emma): Emma, the only biological kid in the family, wants her
parents' attention, and Jessie is just another nanny who's going to take her
time away from them.
WHERE ARE THE REAL STARS.??? WHEN I WAS YOUNGER THERE WERE REAL STARS IN HOLLYWOOD. THE STARS OF TODAY SEEM LIKE A LOT OF WANNA BE'S. THEY AREN'T THAT INTERESTING. WHERE ARE THE JIMMY STEWARTS, THE CARY GRANTS, THE JOHN WAYNES.
ALL WE GET ARE JIMMY KIMMEL AND TRACEY MORGAN. WE HAVE GONE DOWN HILL
Well...I have to agree....all the "real stars" are sadly gone, or working in the director's chair. All we have left are whatever the hell a "snooky" is, something called a "honey Boo-boo"? or something like that, and all the super teens with white teeth, big smiles, perfect hair.....and no "real" talent. Hollywood....you have lost it.....shame on you!
I watched this show with some curiosity for awhile last night; simply because the wife was watching it. One cannot honestly say that there was anything normal about the characters portrayed in that show. Perhaps I am an anachronism, but I must conclude that if NBC wants to convince people that these weirdos are normal, there must be some quite odd people at NBC..
