The 10 most shocking and memorable moments from Season 2

Spoiler alert: Don't read this story if you are not up-to-date on "The Walking Dead."
If nothing else, the second season of AMC's hit zombie drama, "The Walking Dead," has taught us to be patient. Sure, no one could stop talking about Sophia (Madison Lintz) the zombie, a shocking revelation that cringingly guided us into the winter hiatus. But when the show returned with Part 2 of Season 2 in February, too many fan boys and fan girls took to the Web to complain about the perceived sluggishness and overwrought dialogue. A lot of people blamed the slow pacing and lack of zombie attacks on creator Frank Darabont's untimely and unceremonious firing last summer. Darabont, some argued, kept the action coming better than his successor Glen Mazzara.
Then what happened? Boom. Rick (Andrew Lincoln, "Love Actually") killed two dudes in a bar, Shane (Jon Bernthal) tried to kill Rick again and a zombie killed poor Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn). Best of all, Rick killed Shane in self-defense and then Carl (Chandler Riggs) killed Shane again when he turned into a zombie.
Of course, these are just some of the amazingly thrilling and worthwhile moments that mesmerized us this season.
Just in time for Sunday's finale, we're looking back at the best and most shockingly unforgettable scenes this season. We invite you to dig in like a horde of zombies feasting on a farm animal. Mmmmm.
The Season 2 finale of "The Walking Dead" airs Sunday, March 18, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC. The finale will be preceded by a mini-marathon.
