| Horror franchises that don't suck |
With the release of 'Texas Chainsaw 3D,' 10 long-running scary film series that hold up By Glenn Kenny Horror fans who value originality are either the world's smallest or most underserved group of movie lovers. What other genre is so prone to rote, lifeless, mayhem-filled retreads and reboots than this one? This month sees the release of a 3-D "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" sequel. Past experience teaches the horror movie lover to maybe expect the worst. But not all horror franchises are, or were, bad news.
