She's no longer a teenager, but Lindsay Lohan remains a drama queen,
although the confessions are now coming from a third party. The
fresh-out-of-rehab starlet, 21, is being targeted by the ex of her beau du jour, snowboarder-cum-fellow Cirque Lodge
grad Riley Giles, 25.
"Riley went into rehab to get his life together and in the process meets
Lindsay and ruins my life," huffs one Bree Tierney to the National Enquirer. "I
loved Riley and Lindsay stole him."
The chatterbox Bree, 22, claims her ostensibly purloined former flame popped
the question nearly three years ago (he's also been popped by cops for DUI and
drugs, reports TMZ.com), although she says she later learned the sparkler he
slipped on her finger was a big fat fake.
"I wanted to scream when the jeweler told me the stones were cheap cubic
zirconias," she recalls.
Still, they "planned on being together forever," declares Bree. "I've stuck
by Riley through the good and the bad."
She even visited him at the deluxe Utah treatment facility, where she says
she was introduced to an apparently obsequious Lohan.
"She came into the meeting with Riley, and she comes over and sits next to
me, being overly nice. She was complimenting me on my hair and trying to be my
friend. It didn't seem sincere at all," sneers Bree. "A few days later, I get a
text message from Riley telling me he wanted to 'take a break.' I knew instantly
it was because of Lindsay."
Chimes in her mom to Us Weekly, "Riley just stopped calling Bree and never
told her about Lindsay. She found out by seeing photos. It destroyed her."
Giles, however, contends their relationship had been over for seven long days
before he took up with the romantically capricious actress, who recently denied
rumors that she played a role in the marital implosion
of another former Cirque resident.
"I broke up with Bree a week before I started dating Lindsay," he counters to
In Touch. "We had dated for almost two years, but it's not like we were engaged
or anything."
For now, Riley and Bree appear to be hashing things out in the most mature
and classiest way possible -- by trading grammar-deficient he said/she said
messages on MySpace.
As for Lohan, who last week gave In Touch one of two exclusives on her
release from rehab after two months of summer vacation
treatment, she's opening up in its pages once again, this time about her
courtship with Giles.
"We started out as friends," says LiLo, who is back in Los Angeles and being
trailed by paparazzi as she shops, gets coiffed and practices her dance moves
for her forthcoming tango flick, "Dare to Love Me." "We met about two months ago
while doing activities at Cirque. We both enjoyed rock climbing."
And while the issues-plagued star isn't exactly known for her self-restraint,
she maintains she took things slowly with Giles, whose fondness for cheesy
T-shirts and backward baseball caps makes Kevin Federline look like an ad for Brooks Brothers.
"We waited until we were both out of treatment because it made more sense,"
she says, seemingly convinced of the logic behind holding off on hooking up
until faced with the many recovery speed bumps in the real world.
Meanwhile, a not-at-all-bitter Bree, who accuses her ex of having a
stairwell-set rendezvous with Lohan in rehab (we're guessing that isn't one of
the approved 12 steps), is counting down the minutes until the romance crashes
and burns.
"There's no way they are going to last," she predicts to Star. "I know Riley
well enough to know that every action he takes is to benefit himself. He's just
looking for publicity. He's got Lindsay to get attention for his so-called
snowboarding career. He's using her and she's using him -- nice, huh?"
