Scarlett Johansson may be nearly a decade younger than
boyfriend Ryan Reynolds, but is she the mature one in the
relationship? So claims the Boston Herald, which says the engagement-denying duo recently had a "heated discussion"
while strolling around town, where the easy-on-the-eyes actor is filming "The
Proposal." "The Ryan guy was clearly being a baby," an eyewitness snipes to the
paper. "She kept grabbing his arm and he'd yank it away and she'd keep saying
'Ry, come on, Ry. Stop.' He kept switching directions on the sidewalk like he
wanted her to leave, responding over and over, 'Roger that!' -- whatever that
was supposed to mean." Johansson, 23, and Reynolds, 32, whose romance heated up
this time last year with a spate of public spit-swapping, purportedly cooled down
after realizing a paparazzo was close by. "He grabbed her hand and stormed
away," says the spy. No word on whether he tossed in a "10-4, good buddy" before
taking off. The press-shy pair has been dogged by talk of trouble since
February, when the New York Daily News speculated they had hit a speed bump due to their busy schedules. Last week, the
London Daily Mail claimed they were at loggerheads over settling down, with a
source alleging, "Scarlett is younger and has no desire for a husband or family
just yet."
Gwyneth Paltrow admits that husband Chris Martin would
prefer her piehole remain permanently plugged about their private life. "You
will never see us out publicly. We just don't want to be one of those couples,"
she explains to Glamour UK of her camera-hating Coldplay spouse of four-plus years. "He gets furious if I
say something about him." And while some wives might say, "Sheesh, lighten the
hell up," the actress, 35, insists she's never been happier. "Having a family
has made me feel whole," gushes Paltrow, who is mom to Apple, 3, and Moses, 2.
"I used to always be searching and always lonely. I never feel like that
anymore." As for those persistent rumors predicting doom for their marriage, she
calls them "ridiculous," a denial that may or may not make her more crankypants
half "furious."
Paris Hilton and Benji Madden, March

"I've never felt so happy and in love." That's Paris Hilton, sharing her innermost thoughts (yes, she
actually has some) about her nearly two-month-old relationship with Benji
Madden. And just because she posted the sweet sentiments on her MySpace page in
a missive that also promotes her new shoe line and upcoming TV show, that
doesn't make them any less sincere. Right? "[Benji] is such an amazing guy and
life has never been better!" writes Paris, who has spent the past few weeks
crisscrossing the globe with her beau and his band, Good Charlotte, which is led by his twin brother
Joel, aka the father of Nicole Richie's baby. "It's so much fun going to their shows
every night, I now know every song by heart," she says. "I love Good Charlotte,
they rock!! All the guys in the band are so cool and sweet and it's been such an
amazing and memorable experience." That will no doubt come as cold comfort to
Hilton's sometime BFF Richie, who has remained in Los Angeles with daughter
Harlow. By the by, Nicole and Joel recently shot down rumors of an impending
aisle-walk, with her rep downplaying to Us that they aren't even engaged.
Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo have recently been
hit with a rash of split chatter, but they insist all is well in their
snooze-inducing romance. Nick's rep tells Us that a recent National Enquirer
tale alleging Vanessa was left "in tears" after they had "what appeared to be an
argument" while dining out last month in Los Angeles is "not true." (In
Touch, Star and Life & Style also weighed in last week on their supposed
rough patch.) "They are 100 percent together and fine and in love," insists a
verbose insider to the mag. "Nick and Vanessa did go to dinner that night but
there was no fight. When they got in the car, Vanessa looked annoyed in pictures
because she was fixing her eyelash!"
