Has the Australian media managed to conjure up the beauty who hit Daniel Radcliffe harder than a Quidditch bat? The "Harry
Potter" star, 18, revealed to the Daily Telegraph that during a trip Down Under
last year, he had a missed connection with a local looker at an awards ceremony.
"There was one girl there, oh my God, she had these eyes that just looked at
me like she wanted to pounce on me," he recollects to the paper. "She stared at
me all night and I was going to get her number and then I couldn't find her."
Radcliffe then fesses up, "I must have walked around at the party for an
hour looking for this girl like some sad, pathetic dweeb but it would have been
so worth it."
When the paper offered to help him find her, he "blushed" and demurred,
explaining, "I don't know, I don't know her name, I can't remember her name. It
was one of those things but she was stunning."
Not surprisingly, a search was launched, and now a blond insurance staffer
named Cassi has come forward claiming to be the stunner in question (she's just
one of many Harry hopefuls, however, although the paper says she's the "clear
front-runner").
"We said hello and had a quick chat and for the rest of the night, just
because I was fascinated, we were sort of smiling and making eye contact," the
20-year-old Sydney native tells the paper. "I couldn't believe when he said he
was looking for the girl."
The only hitch in the happily-ever-after? She has a longtime love.
But Cassi, who is soon heading to London on an extended holiday, excitedly
assures the Telegraph she's open to becoming pals, adding, "I've told my
boyfriend about him and I'd be keen to meet up."
In other Radcliffe news, the actor will soon make his body-baring Broadway
debut in "Equus," and producers are apparently determined to make sure no one
pounces on the opportunity to photograph his magic wand.
The New York Post says "extraordinary security measures" are being taken,
including the possible installation of recording-nixing infrared devices.
