Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon and Chris Brown at
the Billboard Music Awards in 2005 |
Is Mariah Carey channeling her inner cougar by reveling in the
attentions of a younger man? People reports the slimmed-down, high-maintenance chanteuse, 38, "looked cozy" with Nick Cannon, 27, as the two partied at Las Vegas hot spot
Privé on Monday night. While Mariah's rep denies she and the Jumbotron-proposing actor are an item, they supposedly
passed the musical equivalent of a love note at the club. According to the mag,
the figure-flaunting singer whispered in Cannon's ear before he took over DJ
duties, and she hopped onto the back of her booth and lifted her wine glass when
he spun Jay-Z's "Public Service Announcement," crooning along to the
line, "I got the hottest chick in the game."
Guy Ritchie and Madonna,
2008 |
Madonna's recent kvetching over Guy Ritchie's temporarily flagging libido has touched off a
cookie kerfuffle. "My husband went on that Cookie Diet, and it was such a
turn-off because he didn't want to have sex," the Big M overshared last week
during an interview with a Phoenix radio station. The BlackBerry-snuggling pop icon was referring to the popular
appetite-suppressing treats, which have supposedly been munched on by the likes
of Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson. "He did lose
weight, but he didn't really need to lose that much weight," continued Madonna.
"I think he did it because all his friends were doing it and he wanted to see if
he could do it." But the doctor who developed the diet is taking issue with the
eat-cookie-no-nookie claims. "I've treated more than 500,000 patients with ...
the Cookie Diet in the 33 years since I created it," Dr. Sanford Siegal
said in a statement. "While my cookies curb their hunger for food, I can't
recall any patients reporting that they lower their sexual appetite, too. My
cookies taste good enough but I can't imagine someone preferring them to sex."
In other noshing news, Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson indulged their cravings while hanging
out together last weekend. The Boston Herald says the reunited, golden-haired
pair was spotted chowing down all around town, where the "makeout sesh"- and baby-yearning actress is filming "Bride Wars." Eagle-eyed spies helpfully relayed Kate and
Owen's culinary habits in excruciating detail, reporting they tucked into
takeout pizza on Saturday night (he chose a slice with Italian sausage,
caramelized onions and banana peppers) and brunching on omelets and French toast
Sunday morning. "The place is always mobbed, but they just stood there on the
street, in line, like everyone else," a breakfast bystander tells the paper.
"They were pretty much on display. Then when they got inside -- you have to get
your own food cafeteria-style and the tables are very close together -- they
were totally comfortable."
With the debut of new "Gossip Girl" episodes just days away (April 21 --
don't pretend it's not on your calendar), two of the show's stars appear to be
doing their own special brand of promotion. Blake Lively and Penn Badgley, who play on-screen rich-girl,
poor-boy lovebirds Serena and Dan, were reportedly spotted snuggling up Monday
night in New York (they were previously seen locking lips in
January). A spy tells Perez Hilton the co-stars (or, if you prefer, S
and Lonely Boy) were "cuddling" and looking "lovey-dovey" at a Manhattan eatery,
complete with entwined arms and a kiss on the forehead (Penn was the smoocher).
But the mole insists it wasn't "gross," just "totally cute."
