While you were trying to find a patch of unclaimed sand over the holiday weekend and wishing that annoying kid with the bucketful of ripening shells would take his collection further down the beach, some celebrity squeezes were slipping on their bathing suits and enjoying the good life.

First up is Jennifer Lopez, who spent several days soaking up the sun in Portofino, Italy, with husband Marc Anthony and pals Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

Lopez was captured by paparazzi sharing a smooch with her spouse on the Fourth of July as she emerged from the Mediterranean in a shiny silver bikini, which showed very little evidence that she gave birth to twins Max and Emme just four months ago.

J.Lo also made sure to put safety first as she took a dip off a yacht over the weekend. The London Sun says she gave her hollow-cheeked hubby her engagement ring to hold before she went for a swim, a wise idea both so the hefty rock wouldn't get lost or drag her down to the soggy bottom.

The attentive Anthony reportedly placed the jewel back on her digit as soon as she climbed out of the water.

In between catching some rays and exchanging romantic gestures, Jen and Marc got in some quality tot time.

On Saturday, the couple, who claim they're living nanny-free these days, was snapped holding Max and Emme in the garden of Gabbana's Portofino estate. (See pics of Lopez's body and babies here).

The at-a-career-crossroads funnyman decided to yuk it up with the paparazzi by trading his board shorts for his shapely girlfriend's plunging black one-piece halter, a leggy look that lacked only a pair of pigtails to complete his transformation back into his onetime "In Living Color" character, husky-voiced female bodybuilder Vera de Milo.
