Justin Timberlake isn't just bringing "SexyBack" -- he's
also bringing bitchy back. In a sit-down with the Los Angeles Times to promote
his forthcoming "FutureSex/LoveSounds" album, the usually good-natured crooner
takes a swipe at sample-loving fellow Grammy winner Kanye West. "Kanye? Has he ever had a song that wasn't
already a song before he did it?" wonders Timberlake, adding after a beat,
"That's a joke, OK? Please tell me you know that was a joke." Expect a less
jokey Kanye retort soon. Timberlake, by the by, also recently bared his claws at
"American Idol" winner Taylor Hicks, telling Vogue's Fashion
Rocks magazine, "I have a strange relationship with that show. I despise it, and
yet I'm completely fascinated. The guy who won -- people think he looks so
normal, he's so sweet, and he's so earnest, but he can't carry a tune in a
bucket."
Marcia Cross apparently isn't TiVo-ing "The View" these
days. The "Desperate Housewives" star says she's still peeved that Barbara Walters grilled her about her sexuality during a
guest spot last year on the yak-fest. "... I am not a huge Barbara Walters fan,"
she reveals to the Philippine Inquirer. "That ended that for me ... I just
thought about Barbara, 'You didn't have to ask me that question. That was
'tabloid-y' of you.' I felt like really used. So now I don't really like looking
at Barbara Walters." Adds Cross, who wed stockbroker Tom Mahoney in June, "I
personally don't care if people think I'm gay. It was just that you really felt
part of this gossip ratings mill and not regarded as a human at all."
Speaking of "The View," it looks like heave-hoed co-host Star Jones will have to pony up her own dough if she wants
to slip into reasonably priced footwear. The New York Post says Mrs. Al Reynolds
has parted ways with Payless Shoes, which is done using celebrity shills. "There
will be no more 'face' of Payless," a company insider tells the paper. "Star was
the last."
Diddy may soon be back on diaper duty. The New York Post
reports his longtime love, Kim Porter, is expecting baby No. 2 (son Christian is
9). The stork talk apparently began burbling during the couple's recent sojourn
in Europe, when Porter nixed alcohol, turned in early and donned roomy tops.
There are also whispers that Diddy, who also has a 12-year-old son, Justin, with
ex-girlfriend Misa Hylton-Brimm, may finally get around to popping the question
to Porter.
In other daddy news, Matt Lauer confirms to the New York Times magazine that
he's awaiting the arrival of his third child with wife Annette. The "Today" show
host, 48, and the former model, 40, welcomed son Jack in 2001 and daughter Romy
in 2003.
And finally, Paris Hilton has once again been caught on tape smiling away
as one of her pals takes a potshot at Lindsay Lohan. The good folks at TMZ.com obtained a video of
catfight-prone starlet exiting an L.A. In-N-Out burger late Friday night with
slithery sidekicks Brandon Davis and Scott Storch (sister Nicky was there, too).
Inevitably, the unflattering anatomical nickname Davis coined for LiLo is
mentioned, prompting Storch, the producer responsible for Hilton's
soon-to-be-released album, to declare to gathered paparazzi, "We're actually
celebrating [unflattering anatomical nickname] Day." Paris continues to grin as
Storch gets off a few more junior high-style digs, taking inspiration from the
bright red interior of his sports car. Brandon, at least, manages to keep his
piehole plugged this time. |
