Jennifer Aniston responds to baby talk; Plus, 'Buffy' returns... sort of

Most days, we'd give anything to trade places with Jennifer Aniston -- the fame, the fortune, the access to Brad Pitt, the fabulous clothes, the ginormous mansion in Beverly Hills. And did we mention the whole Brad Pitt thing? But then there are moments we're glad to be a total nobody. Case in point: the unrelenting speculation over whether or not there is a bun in Jen's oven.

Just days after Courteney Cox and David Arquette welcomed little Coco, reports have begun to percolate that the Pitts are also in the family way. The timing sure seems right: Jen and Brad recently embarked on a romantic European vacation (she's tagging along while he's filming "Ocean's 12") and paparazzi have caught them snuggling along the Seine and looking lovey-dovey in Italy.

But despite the intense focus on their procreation plans, the genetically blessed duo isn't yet on the stork's delivery route.

"The report is false," Jen's rep, Stephen Huvane, tells MSN Entertainment.

But that doesn't mean the couple isn't having fun trying. "We're absolutely in the process," the former "Friends" star recently told People. "It's where we're headed." Said Pitt, "I finally think I'm at a place where I won't mess a kid up too much. I just feel I have something to offer now. I was a bit of a drifter, a little bit flaky in younger years."

Aniston will have to wedge her baby-making into her jam-packed big screen schedule. Variety reports the actress is eyeing the lead in an in-development drama about war photographer Dickey Chappelle (she'll co-produce with Pitt), and she'll soon begin work on Ted Griffin's untitled project about a woman who believes her family was the inspiration for "The Graduate," with Mark Ruffalo on board as her fiancé and Kevin Costner in talks to play an older man who seduces her (just ... no).

Jen is also set to star in the long-in-the-works remake of the 1966 Shirley MacLaine-Michael Caine caper comedy "Gambit," and will topline "Diary," about a married woman whose journal is stolen and used against her.

Sarah Michelle Gellar (Amy Graves/WireImage.com)"Buffy": The Resurrection
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is rising from the grave -- again. TV Guide reports that Joss Whedon's defunct supernatural series will be resurrected in cartoon form. Too bad Sarah Michelle Gellar isn't feeling all that, uh, animated about the idea. The mag says she's declined to lend her voice to the project, which is a bit of a problem considering she's the Chosen One and all. In her place, Whedon has tapped Giselle Loren, who voices Buffy in the video game. On the plus side, Willow (Alyson Hannigan), Xander (Nicholas Brendon), and Giles (Anthony Stewart Head) are all back on board to fight the forces of darkness. The pilot will reportedly screen for possible distributors next month.

Viggo Mortensen (Steve Granitz/WireImage.com)Viggo's Ex Files
It probably wasn't the gift Viggo Mortensen was expecting this Father's Day. The smoldering star of "The Lord of the Rings" may be feeling a little burned after getting hit with papers from his ex-wife detailing just how expensive it is to raise a teen.

The Smoking Gun reports that Exene Cervenka, former lead singer of X, is seeking a substantial bump in child support payments from Mortensen for their 16-year-old son, Henry. As part of the couple's 1998 divorce judgment, Viggo, 45, agreed to pay Exene, aka Christene Edge, $3,000 per month.

Now that he's hit the big time (and yes, he's still big time even after the tepid returns of "Hidalgo"), he may have to cough up around $18,000. According to Edge, she earns only $5,130 a month as a teacher-librarian and musician, while the actor took home $276,000 per month in 2003 (for the math-challenged, that's about $3.3 million a year).

Items required for Henry's upkeep include such teen staples as a laptop, school tutors, furniture, car insurance, travel, and parties. But since it was reportedly the teen's idea that his dad take the role of stalwart royal hunk Aragorn in the "Rings" trilogy, we figure the actor will probably cave and slip the kid some extra cash.

Jennifer Lopez (James Devaney/WireImage.com)Anthony Flips for Jen's Feet
It must be daunting for Marc Anthony to try to live up to the gift-giving excess of Ben Affleck, whose presents to Jennifer Lopez included a $2 million pink diamond ring, a blue Bentley, and a silver Rolls-Royce. But the Latin crooner is doing his darndest to find gifts that truly say, "Money is no object." Or common sense, for that matter.

The London Sun claims Anthony recently plunked down $24,000 to buy his blushing bride a pair of -- wait for it -- gold flip-flops. And no, that number is not a typo. According to the paper, the 18-ct. slip-ons are made by a Brazilian designer.

"The flip-flops are completely over the top, but that's how Jennifer lives her life," an insider tells the Sun. "They are very bling bling with thin shavings of real gold shaped like feathers. When Marc saw them in a shop he just had to buy them. He loves Jennifer's feet -- she takes good care of them and is always having pricey pedicures."

In other Lopez news, the Hollywood Reporter says the multi-hyphenate may tap former Sony Music head (and Mariah Carey ex) Tommy Mottola as her new manager. Coincidentally (not), he also reps Anthony.

Rebecca Romijn-Stamos (Jeff Vespa/WireImage.com)Romijn-Stamos Canoodles
So much for our theory that Rebecca Romijn-Stamos has been sitting home alone, watching reruns of "Full House" and wondering where it all went wrong with estranged husband John Stamos. The New York Post reports the "X-Men" hottie "canoodled through the night" with a publishing exec at the Maxim Hot 100 party in Las Vegas Saturday night. Rebecca and the erstwhile Uncle Jesse broke up in April, insisting the split was "very amicable" and they simply decided to go in "separate directions."

In tangential "Full House" news, Alanis Morissette, 30, who for years dated Dave "Uncle Joey" Coulier (he was allegedly the inspiration for her bile-filled mega-hit "You Oughta Know"), is engaged to actor Ryan Reynolds, 27, reports Us. The couple, both Canadian, have been dating for two years. "I knew early on that this was someone I could spend the rest of my life with," Alanis tells the mag. Reynolds reportedly did things the old-fashioned way, trekking to Ottawa to ask the singer's parents for permission and getting down on one knee to pop the question with a 2.5-ct. diamond and platinum ring which he helped design. "We were at home," says Morissette of last week's proposal. "It was very simple, pure and sweet -- and shocking!" No wedding date is yet set.

Kim Cattrall (Kevin Mazur/WireImage.com)Cattrall Talks "Sex"
Kim Cattrall is doing some spin control. The "Sex and the City" siren, who has been widely blamed for putting the kibosh on a big screen version of the retired HBO series, has opened up about why she opted out, and to our great disappointment, "bitter feud with Sarah Jessica Parker" was not the reason given.

"Life is really about beginnings and endings, and this was one of the hardest, most difficult decisions in both my personal and my professional career," the actress, currently filming the Disney teen skating flick "Ice Princess," tells Entertainment Tonight. "I've had six amazing years at HBO and with my 'Sex and the City' family. I want to thank all the fans for their support." Hey Kim, you know how else you could thank us loyal fans? Do the freakin' movie!

USA Today recently reported that "Sex" executive producer Michael Patrick King, who penned the screenplay, was being bombarded by email from castmembers suggesting ways to bump off Cattrall's sex-starved Samantha Jones. "The thing that's the saddest to me is that the whole movie was for the audience," King told the paper. "The series ended with pathos and deep emotion, but this would have been big laughs. Now it will never happen."
