Latin heart-throb Enrique Iglesias and tennis beauty Anna Kournikova may be making more than beautiful music
together. Rumor has it that the celebrity couple are getting so serious,
there's talk that they may be hearing the pitter-patter of little squeaking
tennis shoes very soon.
The rumor flames were fanned recently when the two moved into a seven-bedroom
mansion complete with a giant outdoor pool and a private jetty in Miami, Fla.
Also adding to the baby talk was the future grandfather-to-be.
According
to Enrique's dad, Julio Iglesias, his son and girlfriend are just made for each
other ... "I'm very happy about their relationship," he told PeopleNews.com.
"Who knows? It could be that in the near future I'll have some Russian
grandchildren." There it is, straight from the Julio's
mouth!
Summer's hottest (and loudest) star
Speaking
of blonde tennis beauties, who is everybody talking about this summer? None
other than that shrieking teen sensation, Maria Sharapova. The 16-year-old
blonde Russian, who has already been dubbed the next Anna Kournikova, has
been taking Wimbledon by storm. But what about that awful noise she
makes? It's enough to make your ears bleed.
While the decibel levels of the most famous grunt to pierce the courts since Monica Seles can probably be heard in outer space, don't be fooled into thinking she's all about grunts and good looks. Maria set the record straight when she spoke with USA Today about a new ad campaign for the Women's Tennis Association: "This campaign really shows their toughness," Sharapova said. "I think it's just a message out to the world that sometimes they think that men are tough and they're big and they're powerful, and girls are all nice and sweet and pinkish. ... It's not just about going out there and being pretty. It shows how tough we are out there and how mentally strong we are."
OK, fine. You're an awesome tennis player. But how about putting a muzzle on
that train whistle you let loose on the court? Trust me, small animals will live
longer if you stop now. Wink!
Cage not monking around
Now this one came out of
left field. Rumor has it that the ever-quirky Nicolas Cage is planning a major career change. Does he want to
give up the glitz and glamour of Hollywood to become a doctor, lawyer or pilot
perhaps? No way, Jose, all those career choices are just too normal. According
to TeenHollywood.com, what he wants to become is a monk.
The online zine reports that the "Adaptation" star is so exhausted by showbiz and the trappings of fame and fortune that he's ready for a complete profession makeover. A friend of Cage's explained it this way: "Nic is tired of the weird world of Hollywood and he wants out. Despite his tough-guy image, he is still getting over his break up from Lisa-Marie Presley. He feels he got his fingers burnt." So a life of celibacy and simple costume requirements will fit the bill? Time will tell.
Celebrity bits and pieces
Talk about
your obsession! While Tyrese, the star of "2 Fast 2 Furious," has plenty of dedicated fans that would do
just about anything to meet him, one just went too far. According to Star
magazine, a bold admirer managed to get into his Texas hotel room after
insisting to a clerk that she was booked in the same room with the singer. After
getting the room key, she tossed rose petals around the room, lit candles, and
waited. But Tyrese must've been tipped off because when he returned to the room
he sent in a security guy first and then had her removed. Buh-bye, stalker
Sue!
Tongues have really been wagging since "Sex and The City" star Kim Cattrall chatted flirtatiously with Bill Clinton during a Tommy Hilfiger party aboard the USS Mason. But Kim insists the conversation was purely innocent. So what were they discussing? "Our mutual love of this country," Kim told reporters. Yeah, right. I'm betting the farm that the topic of her new book, "Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm" had to have come up at least once during their patriotic conversation.
In other sexy news, Cattrall's co-star Sarah Jessica Parker claims there's no truth in the rumors that
she's a diva or that she and the rest of the cast don't get along. "I would
never behave in any way, shape or form like a diva," she told reporters last
week at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. "You can ask a
million people, I work harder than anybody." So there!
