Major Lazer to 'Free The Universe' on World Tour
By David Greenwald, L.A. ,  Billboard

Billboard -- Major Lazer 's new tour won't travel to outer space, but it'll come close.

The Diplo -led project "Free the Universe" tour will reach 12 countries during a 34-date run, with the gigs launching in Toronto on Feb. 28. Named after Major Lazer's Feb. 19-due album, the tour will run through North America before heading to Europe, with support acts Dragonette, Angel Haze and Lunice joining select dates.

Major Lazer previously announced a handful of 2013 appearances, included Lollapalooza Brazil and Chile. Festival-watchers may note that the project's dates leave a window in mid-April -- the dates of Coachella's two weekends. The California festival's lineup, rumored to include the Rolling Stones, hasn't yet been announced.

Diplo may need to leave some room in his luggage before hitting the road -- he's nominated for the Producer of the Year Grammy at the Feb. 12 awards ceremony.
