Still recovering from his near-death confrontation with Maryann the
Maenad (Michelle Forbes), Sam was full of Bill's blood and
sadness. He was tired of being the only shape-shifter he knew, so Sam set out to
find his biological family. When he found ... more them, he learned his mother Melinda
(J. Smith-Cameron) is a shifter as is his brother,
Tommy (Marshall Allman), but his dad Joe Lee (Cooper Huckabee) is not. The trio also turned out
to be criminal with Joe Lee using Tommy in dog fights. Sam saved Tommy but
Tommy, who is not particularly educated, grew to resent Sam and stole money from
him, so Sam shot him.
