Anyone who watched "Sex & the City" is familiar with the premise. The phrase was introduced on that show. Definitely a chick flick...good cast, way too long, mindless entertainment.

This was a fabulous movie. Clint Eastwood is a charming, grumpy old man.The story has compasion, morals, personal conflict, and genuine friendship. He shows us his superb acting and directing skills in every scene. A must-see movie!!

This movie is way too long and way over-rated. Even though it is based on a short story by F Scott Fitzgerald, it has a creepy quality to it. There is a love story buried in this movie....ala the woman in "The Titanic" and "Evening" retelling the story. The dying, mumbling woman on her death bed was very hard to understand at times. At least I could gaze at Brad for a while. :-)

I really liked the movie...even the teary parts! The dog is very likeable. Jennifer Aniston and Luke Owens hold there own working with dogs and kids. The ending is very sad and poignant. In spite of the predictable and sad ending, it is very heart warming and worth seeing.

This was a beautiful movie...the scenery, the costumes, and Kiera Knightley's gorgeous face. The story was very interesting....made more so because it is based on actual events in history. It shows how much heartache and cruel treatment women have endured through history at the hands of unscrupulous men. It also shows how few rights and choices women had then as compared to today. The duchess learns the only advocate she has is herself....she is betrayed by her husband, her friend, and even her mother. In the end, her motherly instincts drive her to make a difficult, life changing choice. If you have the chance, go see it.

This movie was dreadful! Off-center, abstract, disjointed storyline, and VERY strange....just like Woody Allen. The absurd use of a narrator added an odd, documentary feel to the movie. The clothing was awful (unless you like wrinkled linen) and no one in the movie owned a comb...or used one. There were a FEW good things....the setting was beautiful....Scarlett, Javier, & Penelope were strong in their roles. Waste of a talented cast.

This was a real tear-jerker movie. A definite chick-flick....bring tissues! It was a light- weight story with a heavy-weight cast. After seeing it, I'm kind of surprised that Hillary Swank took the part....not up to her ususal Oscar winning movies!

This was an entertaining movie. Giselle was perfect.....she embodied the kind, gentle, sweet, naive princess. It was quite charming with the backdrop of cynical NY city! Susan Sarandon was great as the evil queen...a role she was born for! It was refreshing to laugh and feel good after seeing a movie. Pure, wholesome entertainment for all ages! One drawback was the corny ending ...otherwise....a feel good movie!! Everyone left the theater smiling and laughing. Love conquers all!! There is hope!

Posted: 10/14/2007A review of Michael Clayton by carolg730
As a George Clooney fan, he was one of the reasons I went to see the movie. It was not his best effort. The movie is very confusing at times. The use of flashbacks does not make sense until the very end of the movie when all the puzzle pieces fall neatly into place....after 4 days, which seem like four very loooong days in this movie. Not much explanation or development of characters, their part in the plot and why they are in the movie. No viable reason to spend so much time on the character of his son....unnecessary to the entire movie. The movie does have some suspense, but you must wait until the very end....if you can.

Brown-haired, dowdily dressed Scarlett Johansson plopples her way through the movie. Her life is a mess...and never improves! The family she works for is very unappealing...even the little boy....emotionally flat .....stereotypical...... cardboard characters. Wait for this to come out on DVD....that should be any second..then watch it on a night when you have nothing better to do.

Posted: 7/1/2007A review of Evening by carolg730
I was anxiously awaiting the release of this movie after seeing previews and the star-studded cast. Boy was I disappointed!!! What a waste of talent. It was the looooooooooooongest evening I've spent at the movies in a while...felt more like a 100 evenings. Death came way too slowly...as did the end of the movie. Characters were very unlikeable...who really cared about their lives??? A dysfuntional family in a dysfuntional movie. :(

This movie was awful! Diane Keatons character was extremely annoying. I thought she would grow on me as the movie went on, but she didnt...she got more and more annoying. The clothes in the movie were hideous...Diane Keatons were especially ugly. Who told Diane should could sing????

Wow! This movie was well-worth watching. Meryl Streep is fabulous as the magazine editor with ice water in her veins, an eye for fashion and a look and voice that would make your thong twist in knot. It is scary that this is probably a true depiction of how ruthless things are in the fashion world. Anne Hathaway is so stunningly beautiful...you can see her beauty grow and intensify as the movie progresses....along with her wardrobe! A definite must-see chick flick for anyone who has ever read a fashion magazine, enjoys shopping, likes clothes and shoes.....that is about 80 of us!!

This movie was awful. Woody Allen played.....Woody Allen...a real stretch!! I guess Richard Lewis was unavailable for the part. The plot and acting were uneven. The costumes were frumpy....Scarlett Johansson looked like she was wearing hand me downs from Bridget Jones. The Scoop is POOP!
