Which means that I am confined to a corner in office hell and I live with my mom... did I mention I am 28 too? If there are others like me out there... I am sure you will find this movie excruciatingly familiar and funny. The acting was not all that I had hoped for from Sarah Jessica Parker, but her personality really showed through (-Cough- Carrie -Cough- Sex and the City). Was this review helpful? Sign In 5 out of 10 users found this helpful  What a disaster!Posted: 6/9/2006A review of The Omen by Selene0187 I hated this movie but in all fairness I saw the original Omen... and the new movie was nothing more that a newer version of the last. Sure it had some moments that made me jump... but like someone who sneeks up on you and yells BOO! I was more surprised than scared and the effect did not last long.
The acting was awful, but what can you expect when the actors are pretty much imitating the old ones?
I had a feeling this movie would not be good but for some reason I thought the director would have taken advantage of todays technology to add to the creepiness of the movie.. but he choose to add cheap make-up effects and masks... would it have killed him to spend a little more money on the effects?
The movie also seemed rushed... it skipped many explanations such as why the priests eye and arm were withered the bibles explanation of the number of the beast the meaning behing the 666... etc... Being that deleted scenes are all the rage now, I am sure they will have it on the DVD.
-Hey we already ripped off millions to come watch a lame movie based on the fame of the old... we might as well stick it to them again with the DVD release!-
But what really got to me was Damian. The first movie humanizes him, the best example is when he accidentally rides his bike into his mom causing her to fall... in the first movie, the kid runs away scared. In the zoo, the boy is unaware as to why the animals are acting the way they are and in this scene he also gets scared. In this movie I want to kill the kid myself in his first appearance as a 5 year old.
-They are afraid yeah of your really bad acting, but it isnt your fault Damian! The devil has forced his seed into human flesh to make a really bad remake of the old!!
