Great movie. Very touching. One of Sandra Bullock's best. Well worth the price of admission. I would pay to see it again.

There ought to be a law against movies this bad. Breach of Implied Warranty of Believability. How did I ever talk myself into going to see this? Give me a paying job as a critic, watching movies & eating popcorn, I will put a stop to this sort of thing, I promise .......

One of the best Movies I have ever seen. Has far-reaching sociological, political & psychological significance. Should get at least 2 or 3 academy awards. If you lack intellectual capacity don't go see it, it will be way over your head (like the folks who walked out after 50 minutes & went home & played sorry & rumy). If you are offended by this movie at all, it may be because it truly forces you to look at the savage, primitive nature of even the most intelligent humans. If there really are any aliens out there, this movie will explain why they would never want to make "contact" with us & who would blame them? The movie would have been equally affective if the site of District 9 was Washington DC or Kansas City Missouri. This movie will warrant at least 2 sequels.

Sorry for the bad review but the movie does nothing to bolster a woman's image of self-worth or to promote a value system for young girls to follow in order to succeed in life. Like so many other media venues, it serves the purpose of keeping women in the "box" where men have always strived to keep us. I won't go into a boring detailed analysis because either a woman can see it or she can't. Compare the movie "Contact" with Jodie Foster (1997). The basic idea behind House Bunny had a great opportunity to deliver a meaningful message, but totally failed & was just another step backward for female equality in our society. The majority of the audience was female. It did not appear that any of them, myself included, left the Theater feeling better about themselves.
