All reviews by user Date ![]() Helpful Rating 1 out of 1 users found this helpful I was dragged to this movie, uninterested in it completely; but I was pleasantly surprised that I actually found myself enjoying it. The first few minutes were almost agonizing, in that I was turned off by 47's acting, which borders on wanna-be clint eastwood. But after getting into the flick, his poor acting didn't bother me much more. The story made a good turn, which kept me interested. It was actually a pretty good film with quite a bit of action that wasn't too far over the top. It almost got ridiculous for a moment at the harem in Istanbul, but it kicked back and remained stable. If you aren't one for comic book flicks, then don't think to watch it. But if you like eurostyle action with some unfamiliar faces, and good entertainment, check it out. I think this film was definitely underrated, as there are no hugely successful actors headlining. I found it more understandable and entertaining than 007 flicks. I suppose you could say it's a bit like a La Femme Nakita, or the Proffesional. Was this review helpful? But this is human nature. We all react differently from one another. So those of you who remarked that the actions were stupid, are not realizing that people do in fact react irrationally when confined to small spaces, among people you dislike, and under incredible stress. You hope that your neighbors won't behave badly, but you never know. I enjoyed this movie. It was filled with action, yet not too many special effects. I found myself hanging on my boyfriend's arm throughout most of the movie. Gosh I can't stand spiders! Anyway, it's not what you would hope would happen, it's what could happen when stuck in unfamiliar circumstances. I recommend this movie if you enjoy Stephen King novels or movies with creepy endings. Was this review helpful? Lately I haven't been too sure of what to expect from movies, since many critics have not been on target with my sense of cinematic style. There are many movies that have been far too celebrated and those that haven't even been mentioned which should be, and so, I feel that I should give up on Was this review helpful? Its good entertainment for the kids, but not great for those who ask too many questions--because there were too many unanswered. I liked Curious Georges museum visit much better. But whatever... its good for the kids and okay to play on a holiday with the family. Was this review helpful? Another great Drew Barrymore flick. .... oh, and Hugh Grant too. Both of the them worked great together to make a lighthearted comedy-love story. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Im not sure what the professional critics were watching, but us normal down to Earth critics enjoyed the film with laughter. My family chuckled throughout this movie-- from beginning to end. Of course some scenes were absurd, but they were overall, hilarious. We had a great time with a silly movie. Was this review helpful? Sandra Bullock was fantastic, but the story itself, could have developed into something more interesting. I feel that the middle meat of the movie just seemed too much like groundhog day. The ending was fine--there was no other way it could have ended properly with the direction the film took. I just wasnt thrilled about it. From the beginning to the middle, I was looking forward to something special--- but as the movie progressed, it didnt happen. Was this review helpful? I will definitely own this film on DVD--add it to the collection of other silly, but incredibly entertaining films. Note this is a must see film for those whove avidly watched ice skating championships over the past 10yrs (and have a sense of humor). Was this review helpful? There was plenty of action and substantial storyline that, to me, outdoes the previous film. It perplexes me to read reviews that note otherwise. It makes me wonder if they were actually watching the same film. Have people become so spoiled with todays special effects, that now they expect the characters to actually jump out of the screen? What more do people want? The film and story was excellent--even the beginning credits were creative and memorable. Mary Janes character was also more intriguing this time around I think many woman can relate to her characters struggle. Spiderman also dealt with quite a bit--perhaps, while watching the film, you may think there are way too many villains, but after allowing yourself to get through this little bump, you realize that it actually wasnt overwhelming--Spiderman could handle it... with a little help from his friends. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful I give it two thumbs up. It was an entertaining, witty, and enjoyable film-- not the usual hum-drum old jokes or predictable story lines.
There are others out there, however, who may not appreciate the humor or ridiculous story. Its not for everyone--there were some people who actually left the show before it ended.
My guess is, some people just dont get it. -- I Pity them. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-10 of 10 Per Page |
