Yep, that one was no good either. Was this review helpful? Sign In 3 out of 7 users found this helpful Maybe a person needs a vagina or baby fever to be interested in this movie. I found it to be OK but not especially funny or interesting. You can guess the plot and ending. Amy's behavior could have been more over-the-top and maybe that would have kept the theater awake. Not bad but nothing that will generate a lot of word of mouth momentum. Throw in close ups of the birth like a Judd Apatow film to appeal to the guys or something. Was this review helpful? Ellen Page as the young republican and Thomas Hayden Church as the lovable screw-up (as played in Sideways) were the most enjoyable to watch. This film needed a few more Sideways type capers to bring it out of its "boo-hoo, my life's not perfect, whay, whay" mood.
It was a little dark and probably not for the standard blockbuster audience but they'll be watching the crude Forgetting Sarah Marshall anyway and only sneaking into this flick afterwards like I did. Sign In 3 out of 14 users found this helpful Posted: 4/26/2008A review of Forgetting Sarah Marshall by 2balls I liked SuperBad and 40 year-old Virgin but this was as bad as Knocked Up. In other words, shocking just to be shocking and crude. Seemed to be the quality of something thrown together in a hurry. Mila Kunis was enjoyable.
Predictable, crude, stupid and yes, funny. I went away thinking this could have been done better with less unnecessary weiners and swearing. Judd Apatow certainly has the critics by the balls these days. Was this review helpful? When she wasn't on screen, I was literally asleep. She was the only thing good about the movie Broken Flowers, too. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 2/11/2008A review of Over Her Dead Body by fthis2 Here's the good news: Eva is not in the movie that much. The movie is marketed with Eva as the big star, which made me not want to see it. True to form, she is bitchy in this movie as well but fortunately it's more about the other people in the story. Yep, you know the plot line from the opening but it's pleasent enough. I've watched movies twice before so a big surprise is not a prerequisite. Oh, more good news, you'll have your pick of seats in the theater. Word is, it's a bad movie, but I found it to be a decent date movie and Lake Bell delivered her lines well and looked good. Who wants to see two old dudes in hospital gowns when you know both guys will probably be actually wearing them within a year. I fell asleep 2 or 3 times while trying to watch this. Slow, boring, depressing. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 1/7/2008A review of The Namesake by yournicknamehere2563 It's an account of their lives but there is not much of the standard plot. Rent it if you're sick at home but don't expect an obvious moral or resolution. It's long and could have been more marketable but no, you're just gonna watch the story of their Indian life. Step 1 - Stir up some contraversy to get the movie attention.
Step 2 - Go on user reviews and don't write user reviews but tell people this will be the greatest movie ever so they buy tickets and DVD's.
Step 3 - Get paid for being a marketing weasel. Was this review helpful? Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 10/26/2007A review of Dan in Real Life by yournicknamehere2563 sappy chick flick. You'll leave feeling you've been neutered and fitted with a comfy pink sweater Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 10/1/2007A review of The Brave One by yournicknamehere2563 A few unbelievable areas like the sending of the video and the cop scene at the end.
I didn't need to see the attack so graphically. What's with the sex scene mixed with the medical scene?
Jodie and the Asian girl seemed more believable (and hotter) than her and her boyfriend.
I recommend a sequal where she moves in with the Asian girl and goes around at night killing evil men. That's hot. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 9/27/2007A review of Good Luck Chuck by yournicknamehere2563 Hard to go along with young Jessica would like old ugly Dane. Having her be a clutz was distracting and stupid. When it got too harsh, it made me want to leave (like when the girl was swearing what she wanted him to do to her and him going down on a penguin). Good plot idea ruined by two annoying actors, attempt to be shocking, and what's with that cheap grainy film quality?
See it on TV for free. Was this review helpful? Sign In |
