I went because I didn't think Ed Norton would sign on for a dud.
He didn't.
The action was good, as were the special effects.
I love Liv Tyler; a great leading lady.
You love to Hate William Hurts' character as you do Tim Roth.
I don't know who played Mr Blue, but he was good.
Not a waste of time.
Catch a matinee to save some dough.

Not an Oscar winning movie, but a great summer movie just the same. It was a lot of laughs and the action was great.
Jason Bateman was great. He is coming on.
Charlize Theron was good too.
I even got a little teary at the end...
It is worth the big screen.

The main character, the fat kid was a scary guy. Potential rapist and the part about his penis obsession when he was young was NOT funny. It was disturbing. I was really angry I spent the $$ even though I did matinee with my kids. Going to see this is like getting mugged. DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Go see Hot Rod if you want to laugh. I wasnt there for a history lesson. I was there because Mel makes huge movies that need to be seen on big screen. Great job Mel! What you have to remember is, this is Hollywood. You need a character and a story or it is boring. So to the Historians, have some fun and take it for what it is. You cant deny it is great work.

I was so pleased with Paul Walkers relationship with them. Pretty traumatic for the smaller people in the theatre. Seemed like everyone under 8 was screaming or crying so be advised. It is called acting and I thought he did a great job. If you recall, Wonka is a weird guy. Watch the first one and see if you think different. I loved the sets and the cast. I was in a mobbed theatre full of adults and teens. It was the first time I have heard laughing thruoghout, and applause at the end in a long time. I think Depp put just the right spin of weirdness on the character. As far as people saying he was like a child molester, I felt his character to be so scarred from his own childhood he had a painful lack of trust for anyone young or old. If anything I thought he had issues with people touching him or being in his own environment. Hence, his factory fortress. It is a Tim Burton film so you expect a little darkness. I loved the scene at the entrance of the factory with his puppets singing. Very clever. Depp and Burton both deserve to be reconized at awards time. I took my 11 year old to see it and I usually fall asleep. Not today my friends!! It was fast paced and I liked the whole story line with the father and kids. Just the right mix to keep you on the edge of your seat for the whole show. Not many movies achieve that. Don't miss out, see it on big screen. Worth the money.
