The four-year-old, who sits through animated movies, was completely bored and ready to leave within the first half-hour. The older kids were able to sit through the whole thing, but they were not excited about it. The first hour of the movie is virtually without any dialogue, and the repeated scenes of the robot sorting through various garbage in a landfill was overkill and boring. This movie just doesn't work for the intended audience. Nearly every reviewer mentions their kids not understanding what was going on, and they are right. Having to give my kids whisper-explanations throughout the movie just to keep them from falling asleep is not my idea of a good time. There were a few interesting parts, but overall this was a huge disappointment for all of us. Wait to see it until it's free on TV, and even then, have something else to do while it's on. Not worth a the price of a ticket or rental for sure. It's too bad, too, because I really do think it should be possible to make an entertaining and engaging movie with an environmental theme. This wasn't it. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-1 of 1 Per Page |
