Heath Ledger truly left a mark with his performance as the Joker. When I first saw the Joker I thought of Ledger, but as the movie progressed I was no longer aware of the actor behind the character and was instead completely focused on the character himself - which is what all actors attempt to achieve but few ever truly do. Bale and the others brought their A+ game to make the whole experience complete. I would have liked to see more from Two Face and feel like his sub-plot was short-lived but I still appreciated the statement posed by Dent and fulfilled by Two Face "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain..." (which also ties into the ending - did I mention the writing was incredible?) The Dark Knight is possibly the best overall movie to come out this decade and you will be sorry if you don't catch it on the big screen while you can. Was this review helpful? It begins with a pre-teen hellboy going through an awkwardly cheesy dialogue with his "father" who tells him an even more awkwardly cheesy story about the history of the world with and EVEN MORE AWKWARDLY CHEESY animation to go with the story. The movie doesn't really ever pick up, even when you finally get to see the undefeatable "golden army." The story was horrible and the writers should be ashamed of themselves. It was overboard cheeseball and made me anxious for this movie to be over with.
