What would Hollywood like me to do now for my money? Though Meet the Parents was snappy and funny...very........But this ? formulated, forced, chorographed garbage packeged and marketed for the hungryChristmas consumer, with over the hill actors, way over-rated actors......A thin mint for dessert?..........Is this the De Niro of Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Cape Fear and other classics?? Is this Dustin Hoffman looking for a payday or a niche in what is quickly becoming a career only a cartoon of its former glory??? And BaBa................are we not even a bit sickened a bit by this narcisstic, arrogant ego.............and Ben........destined to become the King of shallow, sophmoric, childish drivel, and becoming rich for it. Creativity???? the only I could see is the many ways you could pay for seeing this high gloss trash.........cash, credit, atm, fandango?? A manipulated Cash Cow..........Sacred, only to the film companies bank accounts.......Yuck

I was totally entraced with the first volume....but golly it could have been tidied up with maybe an hour more...........pretentious, is anyone as insightful as Quentin Tarantino? methinks he wallows in the light of his own brilliance..........butt........Uma.... .well she is worth the three stars all by herself........sympathetic and cold bloodied all at once............leaving it there.............but the attempt to have an anti-climax be the climax............fud and dud

one of the worst well-made movies I have ever seen. How on earth is any of the plot believable. Jack nicholson plays a cad as well as anyone can, one can only imagine why. But a romantic lead? he can act, but the sensitivity needed for any believability is sooooo lacking. Methinks he is portraying a love and sex addict, she a tied up co-dependent. Wouldn't life be grand if all that could be corrected in one rainy week-end and some change?....only in Holly wood..............

My favorite special effects were the Peter Boyle like Frankenstein monster, so cute, so misunderstood...........and the black leather corset worn by young Kate........and finally the stretch black pants worn by the same..........not that was special.

otherwise, Mel Brooks should get some of the royalities............

brought my back to my LSD daze when I thought I was an archangel.........the left hand of God??
otherwise fun, frothy......appealing to the baser instincts of most of us.........and quite sure it is old news.........but all the sexual inneundos revolving around vampires....enough to make one sweat blood.

monster rowed the boat ashore, halleluah

Posted: 4/25/2004A review of Man on Fire by Anonymous
How much glitz does it take to realize the plot is utterly absurd. Sure Denzel, the heir to the Sidney Poiter throne, is a great actor, and could make a trip to mini-mart meaningful but without the pyro-technics and high-tech camera tricks, this movie is just Death Wish updated. The idea that a drunken, worn-out assasin could find meaning and purpose in life from a very charming and precocious child is heart-warming and even believable. That his new found life justifys a ruthless, obsessive revenge vendetta on her captors, makes one question his true conversion into a more softer, gentler life. I hope my favorite actor, Christopher Walken, did the film on gratis. Major disappointment from one of the great "character" actors of all time. And what is with the Jack Daniels............a sponsor, or just a lucky supporting recruiter.
