If you are looking for a children's film... keep looking. This is not the movie to take you 5-year old to see. This film is based upon a Dahl story. If you know Dahl (James and the Giant Peach), you know that Dahl's writes children's books for adults and the Fantastic Mr. Fox is no exception. The humor is great and the camera direction is spot on. As I watched this quirky snarky film, I was reminded the film "The Life Aquatic Steve Zissou." The same wierd off beat style and humor. Recommending ar funny animal film.... I know. I am in that camp too. I usually hate movies with animals acting like people... I mean what's the point. A rabbit in a suit is sillly and maybe a little funny but it usually does nothing for the plot. It seems that the folks here got that message. The animals retained their animal nature which is a main element of the plot. In fact... it is the source of a lot of humor. To sum it all up. Go for the animation... stay for the laughs.
