If you only have one cd in your collection that may be a very serious problem. Todd has been the major influence of many great bands over the past 30 years. Yes you heard me right! 30 years! One listen to this collection and you will understand why he has been writing and performing for so many decades. Now, the new frontman for The Cars in 2006, Todd reminds us of the importance of music and uncovers the truth. He brings out the core of great songwriting and musicianship. The rest is history. Not only did he prove his great songwriting and musicianship, but he showcased his acting abilities too. This record is so well produced and written that you will never get tired of listening to it. Prince recorded a record that will stand the test of time and makes him one of the top artists in our lifetime. Purple Rain will continue to influence many generations. It was the launching pad for his success. Not since Simon Garfunkel penned the music to The Graduate, has there been a better matched soundtrack to a movie than Purple Rain. A must own! "Back In Black" came along when corporate rock was hitting the scene hard. This album kept it pure and simple and that is the beauty. Rock was not supposed to be pretty! Was this review helpful?
