I think everybody is entitled to their opinion. Most of the reviews look like they were written by immature, crude little boys and girls. Why dont you write a movie review and save the profanity for your blogs and grow up. None of you know the first thing about Lauren. Quit taking up space with your cruel, unnecessary remarks. I though the special effects were well done. The characters took some to develop and I think the movie started too fast and tried to explain too much after things got started. The plot was different from the 1st, and the action is at least as good, if a bit unbelievable. I was a little diappointed in the ending fight scene between the cuban, the movie seemed to be building it up to a nice ending fight. All in all, a nice movie and worth the money to rent. Parts of the movie were a little slow, the characters seemed to spend a lot of time eating. In parts of the movie you could tell what was going to happen, and others kept you guessing a bit. It does bring out the fear of being isolated and alone. But, if you arent scared by that, then it isnt all that scary.
All in all, I found the movie lacking, not because of the actors, who are relatively unknown, but if the sharks arent there, there isnt all that much of a story. Also, jelly fish dont cut you, they just sting, so a shark tasted the dude and he bled. Was this review helpful? This one was. It never got boring, had as many laughs as the first, the spa scene is especially funny.
The little boy is very cute, especially when he does some funny things that little boys usually do.
The plot was pretty good, even though you could figure out where it was going fairly early in the movie.

Also, be aware that this book is actually the 2nd. book in the series. The Magicians Nephew is the first. All of the people who say this is a LOTR knockoff arent seeing the movie. Each character is well developed with his or her problems. This series is a parallel to Christianity and if you are not a Christian, then it may not make much sense to you. And for those of you who dont want to see it because there is a... oh noo, a WITCH, be aware that she represents the devil, Aslan is Jesus, the Emperor across the Sea is God.
