Vin is seriously cool, the plot was fine - as good as Event Horizon, so I'm pissed that the professional critics trashed this movie. Can't wait for the other two sequels. Was this review helpful? Really, really scary and not augmented too much by effects - just acting. Made me a huge fan of Dourif.<br><br>Scary hospital scene - a great "BOO!". The evil minions have some rather novel ways of killing folks too - which are recounted by Brad in a truly chilling way.<br><br>Almost as good as the original. Was this review helpful? Cinematography is a bit disturbing as the first-person/speed and general 'tone' of the movie is strange. The alien is not as cunning, or vicious (it's also smaller isn't it?). Great acting, but a few 'pregnant pauses'. Reminds me of Spielberg's Encounters...<br> Was this review helpful? Pretty cheesy in some parts but the others - oh boy! Each evolution of the alien is a surprise, topped even more by the alien's residence, albeit temporary, in the escape capsule.<br><br>A brilliant film, even today. Was this review helpful? Equipment and tactics of the marines are reasonable for the timeframe, great acting all around - and of course, Sigourney Weaver. Really nasty humans, and really bloodthirsty aliens (though they still seem to be getting smaller). Nice cinematography... the water scene is cool as the approach to Earth.
