I'm not one for these type movies but i saw all the great reviews and decided to check it out with a few family members tonite. Well, the entire movie audience was laughing so hard! Not your typical bs disgusting guy flick, you could actually picture this happening to some of your friends. GO SEE IT! But no kids under 17, there are some truly risque parts. The moral bankruptcy of the life of a stripper. The once-famous athlete, now older and his realization of the limits of his aging body. The vulnerable daughter still hoping for a meaningful relationship with a father she's never really known. All are just trying to push on through the adversity of their lives. Appropriate for this day and time when youth and good looks are everything and the need of every human being to feel a genuine tender touch is so lacking. Mickey Rouke is superior. Glad to see that he is able to bring his character to the screen with such raw reality. Cudos to all. You will think about this one for awhile. SEE IT! Was this review helpful? Beautiful actresses amazingly accurately cast for these physical comedy rolls, gorgeous clothes and scenery, and a sweet and loving story about two life long friends. Whatever the case, IT WORKS! There were people laughing outloud in some parts and crying a little in others, so, for me that is the magic mixture for romantic comedy. I LOVED IT AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING TO SEE IT! Movie is awesome I just couldn't get past the TOMCAT! All other performances in this one are superb and it is very historically enlightening with exceptional cinematography.
