I agree with others that sexual encounter scenes, patricularly wiith the Lesbian scenes and the explosive scenes with the married man and his girl friend could have been less explicit and still get the point across. I'm not a fan of free-frontal nudity no matter how beautiful the people. Having said that I thought the scenes between Oscar and Chloe were terrific. Most important, however, were the scenes with Morgan Freeman and Jane Alexander. They were so loving and kind, and you can't go wrong with Morgan Freeman. Always a class act with a presence that we don't find in Hollwood much anymore. This movie is for mature adults and not for young teenage voyuerism. Parts of the film made me cry and some of it was funny. Bradley never had a clue about women at all until his final love came true. I found many wonderful things in this movie and not terribly grossed out as I was with "The Forty Year-Old Virgin" which was truly disgusting.l Was this review helpful? Instead it was another long bathroom humor joke. The orginal concept was not bad except why is it wrong to be a virgin at any age? If my husband hadn't been determined to see this movie, I would not have been there. Two funny parts, the waxing and the wedding finale credits. Really cute. The language was atrocious and very offensive from the beginning. The attitudes towards women projected by all the men except Carrell were puerile and out of step for today. I like to see more wit and humour and less vomit and public peeing. Several people walked out early in the show; I would have been among them had I not had my husband as my date. This could have been much funnier without the the vulgarity. I love really good comedy, but I love it the most when it is relatively clean. By forty, most people are a little more discerning..we don't drink to throw up anymore either!! Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-2 of 2 Per Page |
