This was a remarkably good movie. Excellent script, sensitive directing and engrossing cinematography that immerses you in to the atmosphere and action of that era. The acting was superb. Including Tom Cruse’s characterization of Colonel Stauffenber. Critics hate Tom, not because of this bad acting but because they are mercenaries of big studios to whom Tom refuses to stoop. Especially, in the last 10 years we are reading uncouth gibberish from 3rd rate want-to-be critics, who have no opinion of their own but simply write what they are told to write. Their ability to understand art is just as questionable as their grammar. They could not stomach Tom’s “The last Samurai” which should have want many prizes and joined the studios in assassinating the attributes of that great movie; only to displease Tom. They did the same thing with Denzel Washington’s Depiction of Frank Lucas; just to short cut his chances for an Oscar nomination. They said Denzel sweetned Frank. If Frank had not be the slick smooth operator that Denzel showed him to be he would not have been able to manage the deals he struck with the Italian mobs and the military operatives in Vietnam.

Thirteen Days is an engaging and polished drama of a major political show down and show of force that was widely read and commnented about forty years ago and is an important chapter of the coldwar. Yet this movie has such a well written script that is so well acted out that the events unfold as fresh and as they were at the time when they actually happened. An excellent political thriller, especially to those where not born at the time. Mr. Greenwood's performance is not only belivable, dignified and carefully handle (almost with reverence), but may also be considered as a tribute to President Kennedy. <br>

Posted: 2/26/2003A review of October Sky by Anonymous
I thought October Skies was one of the most inspiring movies that pays tribute to youthfull determination and innovation. This is so rare now days and should be encouraged. I think we have had enough of agrandizing rebelion and obnoxious life style and it is high time we taught our youth that what has made this country great is the kind of stamina that is shown in this well written and well acted movie. A movie that celebrates steadfast struggle for achieve something which is large than ordinary life. It is a story of human endeavor that should be emulated. It was facinating to discover that the passion and hard labor of a young man had in the long run contribute to one of the greates US achievments - The conquest of space. Some critic said that this movie was sentimental; if so were: Bonny and Clyde, Chiendler's List and A Beautiful Mind in that they made us shade some tears in one way or another. An excellent movie. Should be shown in all schools.
