My youngest did get a bit bored with dialogue but when there was racing, which there was a lot of, he stood and yelled, "Go Speed."
The movie probably did deserves 4 of 5 stars for its overall "movieness." I give it 5 of 5 for giving me a memory that filled my heart with joy and a memory that I will remember always.
To be worthy of a review here is a synopsis. The movie encapsulates all of the cartoons DNA in an amazing accuracy. From goofy insights to special weapons to Pops comical wrestling moves. See this movie.
I did see this in an IMAX and recommend if you can go to it instead. Was this review helpful? Yes, if you are somewhat familar with the folktails of the orient it is somewhat predictable but it did not matter. The acting was good. Jackie Chan stepped out of the Police Story and sidekick template and showed that he has deeper talent. It was not Shakespear but it was good to see a different character that he was able to make it a real character and not Jackie playing a character.
Jet looked like he had fun making the movie as well.
I would like to see the more of the team as it reminded me of kind of Bob & Bing on the road to somewhere Asian style wit martial arts.
Lastly, I am famous in my fmaily for picking bad movies to see. My family forgave all past errors because of this one movie. Was this review helpful? I suspect that it would be more for the mainstream looking for physical action. For those expecting adrenalin pumping start to finish action then slight disappointment is in store for you. But see this movie. You may not lose as many calories sitting in the seat, as some other movies, but you will regret not seeing it when the next one comes out.
This movie is great for the Superman fans. I questioned the slection of the actors before going to see the movie in an IMAX theater. My impression now is that the selection was brilliant. At times, I saw continuation of the mannerisms of Clark Kent so well established by Christopher Reeves that I had to remind myself that it was not him. Brandon Routh and the director knew what they were doing to make this a pure continuation of the previous Superman movies 1 and 2. Forget the others.
One can argue that this lacks action, but I say no. The action going on is of the heart. Superman is more than muscle he is a man of great inner strength with imperfections. He faces them with dignty.
The special affects brings to life what we all have imagined what a plane saved by Superman would really look like after such crisis.
See this movie for the special affects, intelligent writing, fantastic perfomances by the actors, directing, and enjoyment. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-3 of 3 Per Page |
