You see, I thought most times the books are better then movies and movies that are baseed on books usually leave out a lot of details. But this definately wasn't the case. Disney finally did it! Still the jokes could have been funnier. I mean it was OK but you know I wouldn't watch an "OK" movie again. I don't even think it deserves three stars. I thought the acting could have been more believable. Still I loved it when the two dumbe blondes start hitting each other with telephones and TV's and stuff like that. If you do go see this movie these are the movies you need to watch before you go and see it. The Ring, Signs, 8 Mile, and The Others. They're making Scary Movie 4 and I heard they were going to make fun of Spiderman,Hulk, DareDevil, and X-Men. Even though every single Scary Movie dissappointed me I still look to the next one. It was totally unexpectable I did not read what it was about so I expected something different! The songs just mad me want to get up in the theater and dance. The actors are so good, need I say more? We had to read the book and watch the movie and then write a 5 pargraph essay on the differences and similarities between the book and the movie. I read half the book then watched the movie. I understood the movie up to the part where I read, but after that I was a little bit confused. I definately liked the book better. The acting was excellent but I did not like the way they made the movie. It was quite depressing. Plus, I thought all the actors were ugly and I wanted Julia to be pretty, but she wasn't. I hate reading a book and then watching the movie becasue I always have a picture in my mind how the charaters should look like. Then I get dissapointed when the girl is not as pretty as I wanted her to be. It's a bit silly and immature but that's the way I am. So I do understand if u liked the movie. Also, it is very R, if u know what I mean. They don't leave out anything. Trust me. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 2 users found this helpful The best adventure movie of the year!Posted: 8/17/2003A review of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl by Dramarama33 This is definately the best adventure movie of the year! If you think it'll be stupid beacause it has pirates in it, think again! It's a great story. It also has a little bit for everyone. A love story for the ladies, pirates for little boys who like watc hing peter-pan, and bloody fighting for the men. Jonny Depp is absalutly fantastic in this movie, as he always is. It's almost as if this role was made for him. As for Orlando Bloom he's so hot! And he is perfect for the part of Will Turner (the blacksmit h) who soon finds out he is the son of a pirate. If I haven't mentioned all the other fantastic actors in this movie it's because there are too many to mention. So don't think about not going or going to this movie just go and see it. And trust me you won't be wasting your money Was this review helpful? You know, I've never seen Eddie Merphey in a dramatic movie before he's always in comedies. Isn't that strange??? I liked the story it was nice, the acting could have been better ( from Robert De Niro and Eddie Murphey). Other then that the acting was cool and the jokes were funny. Was this review helpful? I didn't like the beginning, nor did I like the middle. And I absulutly hated the end. If you still want to see this movie after what I've said then go and waste your time. I've sure wasted mine. Is it becasue Steven Spielberg directed it? And becasue he did does that mean this movie "must" win an award? How can people rate this movie more then one star??? Come on people, get real! This movie was crap, a robot that can talk and he has a teddybear and he meets a robot jiggalo and then tries to find a blue fairy to make him a real boy, such crap! Ben Affleck acted poorly and as for Gwyneth she could have done better. I found it lacking something. If it was supposed to be a comedy then I've probably seen another movie. I put this movie in the never to see again movie catagory. There was no plot no story just a buch of actors saying lines. Still their acting was decnt. Why they rated it R? I have no idea! There's only one part where one of the girlfriends has no top on so you can see her breasts. Which in my opinion was totally irrelevent for the movie. I guess the theaters wanted an R rated mvie so they added that scene to make it R! It was not a comedy and not supposed to be rated R! I'm ashamed to say that I liked this movie. I mean is a girl, my age, allowed to like superheros such as batman??? The action was like any action in another regular action movie. The actors were just as good as any other actors in another movie, they also looked the part. And what can I say, Batman was Batman... so forget about being a grown-up and trying hard not to like all this nonsense about superheros. Instead you can sit back and enjoy! Was this review helpful?
