This was thoroughly one of the most entertaining movies this year. I was laughing all the way through. If you're into all the drama/Oscar worthy movies, then don't watch this. It is strictly pure adult fun, catering to mtv generation. This movie made me wish I was in college again too.

Sorry for the bad cliche of a title for this little review, but, as you will read in many other reviews, this movie does in fact deliver. Its exciting, well-paced, and visually impressive. While the first seemed to drag at times and was a tad bit disappointing, this installment is never lacking in suspense and action. And both comic-book fans and the average moviegoers alike will appreciated the showcasing a various ";new Mutants";(-thats an inside joke for the geeks out there, like me). Plus Kelly Hu's Lady Deathstrike is just way too hot. Anyways, it can't be simpler put except to say: GO WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!

People, lets review the word review: 1 : to view or see again2 : to examine or study again; especially : to reexamine judicially3 : to look back on : take a retrospective view ofUnless you have already seen this movie don't post and tell everyone how much you want to see this movie. People want to be informed, not provided an opinion. How could you rate a movie based on what you hope it might turn out to be? How can you put ";I'd see it AGAIN"; when you haven't even seen it yet? Its getting a five star rating from some people based on its trailer. Thats just plain stupid. So to clarify my suggestions below: No, I can't recommend it bacause I haven't seen it yet. One viewing WOULD BE enough to provide an accurate review and rating. Nothing in particular has been brought to my attention as of yet, thus only one star is given.

As a comic book fan, I actually liked this movie. I like how they made the character somewhat realistic, in that he's not decked out in spandex our what not. There were probably a few technical mistakes like clarifying whether Matt Murdock works for the D.A. to prosecute criminals or if he works in a private firm, but never the less, he's a lawyer. The action was pretty good, except the final fight with kingpin could have been more fulfilling, (seriously Kingpin killed his dad and girlfriend, and you aint' gonna kill him?) Collin Ferrel (who seems to be in just about every movie out there) stole the show in this movie. I was apprehensive about Ben Affleck as Daredevil at first, but he pulled it off. Overall, not bad, it has a darker twist, so its not as family friendly as Spiderman.

Posted: 5/10/2003A review of Identity by earjam237
I came into this movie having really high expectations. With all the action/ comic book movies coming out, I thought this would provide a nice suspenseful change with an intelligent twist. Unfortunately, this movie did not turn out as ";clever"; as I thought it would. Without giving away the ";surprise"; all I can say is that the ending was a sort of cop out. It was just an easy way to clean things up without having to explain the logic to all the murderous events. Then again, that is why it is called Identity. The performances themselves were alright, and the cast was great. Not a bad movie to watch, just not as ";clever"; a who dun it, than I would have expected it to be.

What else can be said about the matrix franchise that hasn't already been said? This episode, Program, can be downloaded from the animatrix website as part of the promotion leading up to this years Matrix sequels, or you can wait for the DVD collecting all the animatrix episodes. This is a totally independent short story in the Matrix continuity. It deals with the question as to whether or not ignorance is bliss. Add to that powerful japanese animation, and a Fuedal Japan backdrop, and its simply awesome. If you're a fan of the Matrix, anime, or samurais, (and even if you're not) check this out. It kicks ass.

This movie was horrible. It has to be John Woo's worst movie next to Hard Target. After seeing WWII potrayed in movies such as Saving Private Ryan, and The Thin Red Line, or even the HBO special, Band of Brothers, this movie just seems like corporate Hollywood crap. ";Hey lets make a war movie, let's get a big star, big director, and make a whole story centered around this pretentious plot."; The acting was terrible, costumes seemed fake, battle scenes and set designs just plain bad. Did anyone notice how evenly spaced all the holes from mortar shells were? And that grand finale, I thought they were on a tropical island, why did it seem like they just filmed it off in the angeles mountains or even palmdale? Just a waste of time.

All I can say is that this episode of the Animatrix is very informative. It depicts the downfall of humanity in anime style. The animation is pretty flawless, and it puts a lot of other animation too shame. There isn't much of a singular storyline, instead it is presented as a sort of video tutorial of the world of the Matrix. If you haven't seen this yet, download it in zip format from the animatrix website, or just go to www.thematrix.com. You wont be dissappointed, but you will be wanting more.

This episode directly ties in to the new Matrix Reloaded movie coming out in May, and was released in theaters with the Dreamcatcher movie. It will also be available on DVD. It deals with the crew of the Osiris discovering the machines plot to destroy the human city of Zion. Aware of their own impending doom, it is a race against time for this crew to hack into the Matrix and send the inhabitants of Zion of the coming danger. This, unlike the other Animatrix episodes was done with CGI similar to that of the Final Fantasy movie. In comparison, these characters' movements aren't as choppy and robotic, which was the case in Final Fantasy to its demise. Overall, it is also a hell of a lot more exciting. The action is up to par with the movie itself. This Animatrix episode was the only thing worth seeing about the Dreamcatcher movie, it was clearly used to boost the audience for a movie that simply @#%*ed. Anyways, this episode rocks.

Posted: 4/19/2003A review of The Animatrix: A Detective Story by earjam237
Yet another episode which may be downloaded from the Animatrix website, or from the upcoming dvd. Nicely done in a film noir style, but with a Matrix twist. It follows a detective hired by agents to track down the hacker, Trinity. It could pretty much be a sequence that precedes the opening scene of the original Matrix. Though it is not as intense as what has become expected of everything that is The Matrix, its storyline is masterfully done, with a heightened sense of melancholy. Definitely a must see.

This movie is deep and mindbending. Terry Gilliam is a great director, and the visuals are just spectacular. The acting is fantastic, Willis and Pitt are off the hook. If you haven't seen this, then you are missing out.

Posted: 4/9/2003A review of Basic by earjam237
You know, I'm still kinda confused with this movie, but for some reason I kinda enjoyed it. I mean I understand the main aspects of the movie, but you still don't really leave knowing which one was a credible story. Basically, you're in the same position as Connie Neilsen's character. Some people may have thought that Travolta's acting may have been over ther top, but it was all part of the character. He had to come off as someone who was manipulative and stuff. Anyways, its one of those movies that may require a second viewing. The action was pretty good too, nothing big and flashy, but enough to keep you involved.

What can I say except that this movie is terrible. Are the writers so out of touch with regular people that they actually think people talk that way. I mean, come on, some of the dialogue was just way too campy, if not corny. Seriously I think Stephen King is losing his touch. Stick the Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption stuff. And one of the worst parts of the movie concerns Jason Lee's characters addiction to toothpicks. Can someone tell me how stupid that was? First off, I think the whole scene was unrealistic. I don't think crackheads would even be that desperate, much less for a damn toothpick??? And what person, regardless of the intense situation they were already in, would pick up a toothpick from a dirty ass floor? Even if it was on a small patch of clean floor, still it was just outright ridiculous. They really never even explain where this toothpick addiction evolved from, the child character never had a toothpick. Seriously, it was just a plot twist to get someone killed. The best part of this movie? The animatrix episode prior to the movie. It was either that or when it ended. Actually the ending was pretty stupid too.
