Posted: 7/2/2004A review of 1 fille & 4 types by NunO_tHe_shEeP
1 FILLE & 4 TYPES (1 GIRL AND 4 GUYS) is Celine's first French-language album since the release of S'IL SUFFISAIT D'AIMER in 1998, and is her second album released in 2003 after the multi-platinum album ONE HEART.

The album kicks off with the premier single 'Tout l'or des hommes' (All Men's Gold), which is clearly a new style for Celine Dion. This soft rock track is great. The second single 'Et je t'aime encore' (And I Still Love You) topped the French charts at #16, and was previously released on ONE HEART with the English version. The last single, which is one of my favourites, 'Contre nature' (Against Nature) is a great love ballad.

But, I think the real emotion comes from the ballads 'Et je t'aime encore' and 'Apprends-moi' (Teach Me). 'Le vol d'un ange' (The Flight of an Angel) is another great song on this album.

This is one my most-liked Celine albums, but not a favourite. The songs 'Tu nages' (You Swim), 'Des milliers de baisers' (A Million Kisses), and a couple of other tracks didn't make it on my 'wow' list.

But, it is worth listening to, that's for sure!

The album was created with four guys: Gildas Arzel, Erick Benzi, Jacques Veneruso, and Jean-Jacques Goldman who had previously written material and produced Celine's previous French albums.

Posted: 7/2/2004A review of A New Day...Live In Las Vegas by NunO_tHe_shEeP
If you haven't had the chance to see Celine Dion perform at her three-year Las Vegas gig A NEW DAY... at the Caesars' Palace Colosseum, then this album is for you! A NEW DAY... LIVE IN LAS VEGAS gives you the opportunity to experience Celine perform live in her sold-out show, with thirteen live performances.

But, hold the bus. The album has its flaws. I don't really enjoy the fact that most of the live performances on the album are remakes. Only four tracks are originals: 'Because You Loved Me,' 'I'm Alive,' 'Et je t'aime encore' and 'My Heart Will Go On.' Don't be fooled, 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now' isn't one of her originals, it's a remake.

I prefer the studio versions. Live versions of any song lose their clarity and beauty, in my honest opinion.

I guess the album is only worth buying for the two new studio tracks 'You And I' and 'Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way;' plus a Bonus DVD of the 'One Year... One Heart' TV special.

Maybe this album is a downhill trip for Celine, but still, she is the world's best-selling female artist who's sold over 165 million albums worldwide in the past decade. I don't know what you guys think of this album, but it's not one of my favourites.

Posted: 7/14/2003A review of One Heart by NunO_tHe_shEeP
'One Heart' was released on March 25th 2003, the same day to coincide with the premiere of Celine Dion's Las Vegas show "A New Day..."
Celine has taken a different road in the making of this album. With modern pop and to classic rock genres, Celine has recorded an album that will satisfy all tastes for sure.
The first single released from 'One Heart' is the Roy Orbison classic hit "I Drove All Night." Two new singles, "Have You Ever Been In Love" and the title-track "One Heart" were shortly released after the release of the album. "Love Is All We Need" is a track that is influenced by pop sensation Britney Spears. A slowed-down version of "Sorry For Love" from Celine's comeback album 'A New Day Has Come" in 2002 is also featured on this album, as well as "Coulda Woulda Shoulda," which was originally recorded for 'A New Day Has Come' but didn't make it on the album in the end. As it is known 'One Heart' wasn't planned to be released... instead a new French album was supposed to be released, but with the death of songwriter Eddy Marnay, the French album was postponed. But Jean-Jacques Goldman (one of the other songwriter from the group for the French album) wrote the classic-rock song "Je t'aime encore.' Well I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy 'One Heart.' So if you don't already have it, then go out and buy it
