Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful incrediblePosted: 8/19/2005A review of In Your Honor by grweatherman this may well be the best foo fighters album. it certainly is the most ambitious. i love both discs, but i think i prefer the acoustic one, which surprises me since most of my previous favorites were their rockers. i may still reach for the colour and the shape when someone asks to borrow the band's best record, but this may well be the one that defines their career in 10 or 20 years. Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful  still goodPosted: 8/10/2005A review of Rush Street by grweatherman hazard is the creepiest, most interesting song richard marx ever released. it would have been great to have more songs like that, but there are still some real winners on here. nirvana came to sweep music like this out of popularity shortly after, but richard marx was unfairly labeled uncool by the music industry. he continues to write and record excellent music. Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful better than nirvanaPosted: 8/8/2005A review of Foo Fighters by grweatherman i honestly like dave better solo than i liked his old band. i am a big nirvana fan, too, so i'm not taking a dig at the band as much as i'm complimenting dave's solo work. this record has a great, almost homemade quality to it. i genuinely like every track & still think it may well be the best foo fighters recording, even if it mainly was a solo album. I think Around the World in a Day is the next best one, and that record immediately preceded this masterwork. As usual, Prince visits many styles here, and handles them all expertly. Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful excellent live albumPosted: 7/27/2005A review of Live by grweatherman this is a very good summation of alice's career. it's really a shame that various issues conspired to keep aic from becoming as big as they deserved to be. i had hoped to grow old with this band still around, just as the older generation is growing old with aerosmith & the rolling stones still kicking out the jams...ultimately, listening to alice in chains live is a bittersweet experience for me, as i can't help but wonder what it would be like to still be getting excellent new recordings from the band. Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful very good!Posted: 7/26/2005A review of Shadowman by grweatherman steve continues the journey he took us on with 2000's glossolalia, though this album may be a bit more straight ahead rock. his voice sounds as good as it has during the past 15 years or so, too. his lyrics are at times a bit abstruse, but that also makes for an interesting listen. good stuff here - hopefully, we won't have to wait 5 more years before steve's next solo album!
