I do not understand the poor reviews written here. What were you expecting to see..."Gone With The Wind"? In the theater I veiwed it at everyone was ENTERTAINED! That is why we pay to see these movies. We all fantasize about how the Earth will end, we all fear it. So why not watch a film based on that. When "Deep Impact" hit the theaters the movie was fantastic, However it was also very depressing, A downer of sorts. When "Armeggedon" came out, an instant hit, we all laughed at and enjoyed. Yet "Deep Impact" blew that movie away in reality. Hence heres "2012" We all fear the day 12/21/12 so we all payed the money to see our demise. Hello, That is Entertainment. This movie was eye candy for anyone demented enough to enjoy millions of people dying on screen. Yeah, I know pretty harsh but that is what we all payed to see. The movie delivers on laughs, crys, terror, action packed escapes that brought you to the edge of your seats, acting and,Oh yeah the end of the world in a manner in which will never be topped on film again. How can you top California falling into the ocean, or the J.F.K. battleship falling into the white house, I mean come on. The only land standing was Mt. Everest and it was the only thing standing in the way of mans survival...Awesome! I loved it and enjoyed it for what it was...The end is here...go see "2012" Was this review helpful? The story follows three animal families yet gives you insight on numerous others. Kids will love it and parents or not will be awe struck by the images flashing across the screen. We laughed, cried and cheered to real life animals trying to survive the harshest invironments. Disney pulled out all the stops, Great time delay video and awesome motion videos. The credits tell how they made the movie and my hat comes off to these photographers. GREAT MOVIE! Was this review helpful? A clean easy to follow plot, A plot that has quit a bit of action for adults and kids alike. Forget the cheesy lines in the movie...the kids will love it. When the movie ended the kids in the theater applauded as if to say to Disney...We want more. I was very happy with the movie in a respect to the earlier Escape to Witch Mountain and Return to Witch Mountain. This one did not falter, it stuck to the origional and kept us at the edge of our seat. The action was non-stop and the speacial effects were what we were expecting...very good. Great Job, forget what the nay sayers will say...this is not Transformers, or Alien vs Predator..it is what it is...A good family freindly film that attempts to keep the WHOLE family entertained and does one hec of a job doing it. I'm only thirty nine years old so Im not to old however I would never imagine a movie that could justify the images this movie portrayed. First, the acting was good, the visuals were awesome. But the story was disgusting...literally, from the recreation of the Zapruder film, (JFK's assassination) to the seven year old girl, raped, mutilated then eaten by the psychos dogs. Come on. The JFK scene was a disgrace to the people of this country, Imagine being a Kennedy watching that scene...real low point in the movie only minutes into it. Just to harper the fact that America is a vile and violent place. The maker of this comic book is the vile and violent place, the makers of this movie followed suit. I feel for the youth of tomorrow, when something this disgusting is considered entertainment it is no wonder why schools are being shot up by sick dimented kids...God be with you all and I'm not talking about Mr. Manhattan. Night Shamamalala (or whatever) movie and quickly the horrible films, Signs, The Village, The Lady in the water came back to me quickly...Then I looked at the mis leading cover and decided against my better judgement to rent it. I wasn't fourteen minutes into the movie when I decided that this was the last four dollars I'd ever invest in one of his stupid, boring, poorly written movies. I mean come on...Killer vegitation with gas. Here is an example...The wife tells Walhberg that she had dessert with another man, and he tells her he bought cough medicine to see the cashier...wait...and he didn't even have a cough. Forget the fake looking carnage all around you, forget the two teen agers that were murdered on the front porch of a mans home lets grip about what we did when the world wasn't ending...By the way...why did the man stop shooting, they were still on his porch. Oh yeah, where was the mans acting classes taken...they need to close that school. Shamamalala thats it buddy...hopefully Hollywood will send you back to Bollywood when you come up with your next Terrifying Idea....Good Ridance to you. Was this review helpful? The ending isnt worth a crap with the tree gods stuff but the film was good enough to bring a sequel or two. Good stuff. Was this review helpful? Scary, well thought out,( This was one of the first tales of sorority slashers at the time) and unmistakably eerie, The gore is every where and this film actually helps you to cheer for Linda Blair. A Romping good time. Was this review helpful? This one makes that one look stupid. The score is scary, the screams are realistic and the raft scene will blow you away...This is the scene which the MPAA cut to pieces in the eighties. I wish the whole scene would be made whole again. The DVD finally came out and I bought it right up. The Burning will always rank up their next to Halloween and The Exorcist as a scary as hell endeaver. Good film....Still waiting on the sequel. Was this review helpful? I enjoyed it and wish it would go to DVD. Im still waiting on the sequel....Just kidding. Was this review helpful? I have waited for this one to come to DVD. However that hasn't happened so I will review with my memory. A father and son mistakenly fall prey to a bunch of dirty pirates with walk mans and goods they looted from un knowing sea men whom they plundered. The son becomes a pirate... the coast guard shows up and its a bloody free for all at the end...Awesome, Still waiting for the sequel. Was this review helpful? It was a guys night out and I was outnumbered. I now totally recant that regret. This movie was gory, dirty, shady, and disturbingly fun. I just couldnt get enough of it. Planet Terror was so funny I almost split a gut if you can actually justify such inhumane graphic violence as was this film. It had everything a person loves about movies and then some. Family drama, a scare or two, graphic violence, romance, a hot sex scene,(oops missing reel) hot women, big time actors and humor beyond funny. Then came Death Proof, which (sorry Tarantino) was no where near as entertaining as the first film. Until of course the car chase. The women butt kickers and the sling blade wanabe...(hilarious). Quinton spent to much time boring us in the begining. Then came the hilarious film trailers...Thanksgiving was great, Dont was hilarious, and Warewolf Women of the S.S. was disturbing. Machetti was the best one. Either way...awesome job. I was fully entertained. This wasnt a movie it was an event. Excellent expeirience in the theater as everyone just could not hold back their laughter. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 6/29/2006A review of Superman Returns by RobertPennell My son and I went to see the movie after a long years worth of anticipation, He was clad in a Superman costume and I in my best Superman Shirt and hat. let me sum up the movie for all of you. First I can symphsize with all of you whom did not like the movie, chances are you are all younger generation action movie fans that want to see non-stop action. Example Spiderman 2 and the X-men, But remember It took Spiderman thirty minutes before he became the superhero, The Hulk took an Hour, the Fantastic Four, three quarters of the movie, The makers of this film had twenty some odd years to make up here. You cannot just throw him into the mix without some sort of cleaning up, I mean look at Superman 3 and 4, they were a mess, How do you follow crap. With toilet paper. So the film had a lot of explaining to do. Second of all they needed to get it right or all the Christopher Reeves fans would be pissed. I too loved Christopher Reeves and missed him. Yet this new guy did an awesome Job. The American Way, now that is a good gripe. They needed that line if only to remind the new generation for which Superman stands for, The airplane scene in the movie was so good that half the people in the theater clapped, I could not get over how good that was, I had goosebumps galore when that music started up, The entire movie was fantastic, For the first time in a long list of hollywood greats, hell since, Titanic, you could see where the money was spent in this film. The special effects rivaled any movie I had ever seen. I found my self many times wriggling in my seat, I felt like a kid again, I remember watching Superman the movie with my father. I would act like Superman to the point in which I would drive Dad nuts. My son played Superman right up until he went to bed, Nothing against Spiderman, but it was sure good to see him play a different super hero. Great Job, I love the new possibilities for the upcoming sequels. Great Ceasers Ghost! Did I forget to mention the airplane scene.. Was this review helpful? We laughed and enjoyed every second. The voices were pretty darned close to the origional on the exception of Owl. We played Bambi the origional until Bambis mother was killed then turned on the new Bambi and watched the movie throughout as the movie ended we cut right past the special features and started playing the origional Bambi from the Tragedy in the forrest scene on. Youll find that in the scene selections. When you watch the movies from those points you will get the whole story without the repeatability factor. It was charming, funny, Flower was a riot as well as the tadpole to frogs scenes. The movie tied in perfectly and the story was actually based off of the origional book. Bambi 2 was a very enjoyable break from all the adult themed kids movies of this day and age. Another suggestion is to visit the web sites for both Bambi movies. You will find them at disney.com there you will have to type Bambi2 in the search feature and follow the links. There are fun activities that my son and I enjoyed. Great job Disnay. The origional film was good enough to leave alone. I hope Carpenter does not remake Halloween next. John Carpenter is one of the most origional horror film producers in history, surely he can come up with some new stuff. Oh well, I am apparently gripping, the movie hasn't come out yet and it may be a phenominal movie, too bad it's not called The Fog part 2, then I would go see it. Since it's not I will throw in the origional and enjoy the movie for what it was, an origional classic by a master story teller. Was this review helpful? But after watching the movie i only feel as if i was robbed of my rights by watching another mans portrayal of a homosexual. This movie did nothing to give Alexander his just do. A glorified leader, the movie portrays him as a kid looking for a dream land not a conqueror, An astoundishing lover, The movie portrays him as a maniacal homosexual with nothing but pretty boys whom would be bashed in todays world but were aloud to walk amoungst the warrior macedonians, please, stick to what your good at, do not waist your time, and go see Troy instead.
