Everything diehard Sci-Fi & Horror fans crave is here-- terrific cliff-hanging, mirror-maze plot twists, wholly believable characters you increasingly care about, hilariously well-timed (and very much needed) comic relief, consistently excellent production design, and beautifully plot-integrated, jaw-droppingly executed SFX. I was one of many mesmerized little boys sitting in the dark of a movie theater who, so many years ago, had their tiny minds blown away by the original widescreen showings of such classics as THE TIME MACHINE, JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, and FIRST MEN IN THE MOON, to name but a few. FRINGE brings back those very same childhood thrills ... and although my adult mind isn't as tiny as it used to be, FRINGE nevertheless effortlessly blows it away again, every episode. Thank you, thank, thank you all for such an absolutely wonderful series. Was this review helpful? "Family Guy" is great, and "American Dad" is even better-- but "Drawn Together" even edges out "South Park" with its brilliant writing, amazing animation and superb vocal performances. Laser-sharp, lightning-fast and with virtuoso comedic timing, the show constantly makes me burst out loud laughing, and drop my jaw in awe and wonder by its courage and conviction. This flawless gem of a show actually taps fully into the ancient esoteric tradition of the "Sacred Clown"-- spiritual therapists who use outrageously perceptive concepts, props and performances to blast away at the psychopathically cowardly and hypocritical Puritan sexual ethics which afflict this country. I grew up Gay in the '50's and '60's, and was exactly Xandir's age-- 19-- when Gay Liberation roared in 1969, which was like going from almost dying in a desert to the tropical wonders of Polynesia. Xandir deals with many of the same heartaches and challenges that I did, and I can smell the comedic brilliance of Jack Plotnick all over him. Hell, I'm still trying to recover from Jack's beyond-astounding "Evie" in "Girls Will Be Girls". But to everyone at "Drawn Together"-- thank you, thank you, thank you. It'll live forever.
