I really enjoyed this album. You can sit back, unwind, and enjoy a nice drink to this music. You can also slow dance with your loved one to this album. I especially liked her version of the Jobim classic, which she re-titled The Boy From Ipanema. I love that song, as well as some of the other Jobim tracks on gthia album. Excellent album.

This show is sick, warped, offensive, monstrous, brutal -- everything a growing boy needs. I love it! What, did you expect me to tear them apart? Yeah, I want the nerd from Buffy to stalk me and beat the crap out of me. Keep up the good work, Seth & Company!

I couldn't bear to watch that part of the movie. I had to cover my eyes, seriously. That scene was my only gripe. Other than that, the movie all around had a deep gutteral feeling to it. The violence was more graphic than the original 1972 release. With the exception of Cleveland native Monica Potter, who played the mother of the raped girl, the rest of the cast was new to me. It was a very good psychological thriller. It did a very good job in creeping out the audience.

Posted: 3/17/2009A review of Watchmen by giannico1
This movie was way too long (nearly three hours!!). I was hoping to see plenty of action, but they were very few and very far between. Because the movie was based on the graphic novel, too much of the movie was focused on storyline and dialogue. If there is a silver lining to this movie, the violence was graphic enough for the guys to get into it, as well as a little nudity and sex. The star power was lacking. This critic only recognized Carla Cugino from the SPY KIDS franchise. The other cast members I had to do research on. I barely recognized Billy Crudup from MISSION IMPOSSIBLE III. He played the blue guy, Dr. Manhattan. Overall, the movie didn't live up to the public relations hype. There were too few scenes that entertained me. Save your money for when WATCHMEN hits the local bargain theatres. Oh yeah, make sure you hit the restroom stalls before sitting in your seat.

Posted: 3/5/2009A review of Street Fighter by Giannico1
This version of the movie focused more on thestorytelling than on the sometimes visual effects filled action sequences. The star power may have helped out, with the likes of Michael Clarke Duncan of SIN CITY and SCORPION KING, Neal McDonough of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES fame, Kristin Kreuk from SMALLVILLE, and Robin Shou from the MORTAL KOMBAT franchise and BEVERLY HILLS NINJA with the late Chris Farley. Nonetheless, it was better than the original STREET FIGHTER, which had Jean-Claude Van Damme, Ming-Na from the JOY LUCK CLUB, and the late Raul Julia from the ADDAMS FAMILY franchise. If you are a fan of the Capcom game, you might like the original better. If you are into modern remixes, this new one might be your cup of tea.

It was a sophomoric effort in making a slasher flick, but it falls short. If it weren't for the occasional gallows humor, the movie would have tanked completely. The lead actress is a former Skinemax porn star with little acting ability, along with everybody else. The story was halfway decent. The action was slow, but it picked up in the middle of the flick. This movie is more of a renter than an owner.

Posted: 4/1/2008A review of This Film Is Not Yet Rated by Giannico1
Loved the interviews from the filmmakers and performers about the guff they had to endure to get their work distributed. These days, an NC-17 rating can be both a blessing and a curse. The first-hand accounts are a testimony to that argument. Your hear comments from directors John Waters, Kevin Smith, Matt Stone from 'South Park' fame, and others. I especially enjoyed the tenacity of the film's director as he exposes the members of the MPAA ratings board for the liars and hypocrites that they are. Kirby Dick also exposes the discrimination against independent filmmakers, as opposed to the filmmakers from the six major film studios in Hollywood. The movie has an agenda, and it makes no apologies for it. I loved this movie so much, I bought it online. This movie is hard to find in video stores -- very, very hard to find! Despite it all, it was worth the relentless searching. If you love documentaries, you must have this flick in your collection.

I made this rant before, and I will say it again for the umpteenth, millionth time. We need more lighting. I get it. It's dark. I could not see the person getting whacked in the movie. I became annoyed by it. The only redeeming quality was seeing Eddie Murphy's brother, Charlie, in the flick. I like him. He is one of the most underrated supporting actors in Hollywood. I enjoy seeing him on screen. I was torn between rating it between a 1 or a 2 out of 5. My actual rating is one and a half, since one cannot give half ratings on MSN.

The movie was absolutely terrible. The movie dragged too long. Traci Lords cannot act her way out of a plastic bag. The characters just annoyed the bejesus out of me. The story barely got my attention. This movie was the worst of the 2007 Horrorfest flicks. I wasted four bucks at the video store. I want my money back.

Let me put it this way. The action made up for some fairly average acting. WWE's Triple-H was the worst of the bunch. Ryan Reynold's comedy helped save the movie most of the time. Put it in your library only if you like either comic book or vampire flicks. That is my humble opinion.

Posted: 9/6/2007A review of Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf by Giannico1
I always like watching Christopher Lee act outside of the Hammer House DRACULA movies. He played Count Dooku in STAR WARS II and III, Saruman in the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, and -- believe it or not -- GREMLINS 2 THE NEW BATCH. Lee is one of my all-time favorite actors. Another interesting performer in this flick was Sybil Danning, who plays Lee's nemesis, Stirba, the lead werewolf. Her acting was a little over the top, but my best guess was she was mostly in it for her body. Aside from the S&M threads, the director shows her flashing her boobs at the ending credits in almost every other frame!! By the way, Danning can currently be seen in the new HALLOWEEN as Nurse Wynn. Outside of the characters, which were very few, I liked it. It is not the greatest werewolf movie out there, but it works all the same. The first HOWLING was the best of the series, but this movie is still worth checking out at your local video store.

Posted: 9/6/2007A review of War by Giannico1
I enjoyed the flick. There were a little more gunfights than martial arts sequences, though. I was surprised at that. The pace wasn't very fast. The movie played out more like a chess game. It was also nice to see John Lone in a movie again. I haven't seen him in a movie since RUSH HOUR 2. Devon Aoki was definitely sexy, as always. This was also one of Jason Statham's better flicks since CRANKED, which I really didn't care for. The ending was confusing, which kind of left it open for a possible sequel. At least, that is what it seemed like to me. Nonetheless, I had a fun time watching it.

I enjoyed the fact that the Garant brothers did not take the movie too seriously. I liked the movie for the slapstick and some side gags. I also believe that the medium-sized star power helped out a bit. Christopher Walken is as big as you can get in the movie. He is a very good actor. Aside from Robert DeNiro, Walken can switch from drama to comedy at the drop of the hat. Dan Fogler does a decent job as the protagonist. Some critic compared Fogler to the late Chris Farley. Let me get something off my chest, and I hope I don't get in trouble for it. Farley mostly screamed his dialogue and took his pratfalls. Fogler actually speaks his dialogue more than he screams and yells, which he did very few in the movie. Fogler is a decent actor, and he can only get better with more experience. Now, for the ladies! Maggie Q of MI:3 and LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD fame does a pretty good job in the comedic role. Aisha Tyler, mostly from E! channel fame, did a pretty good job as well, despite the fact that she spoke very little and spit poisoned darts at people (no spoiler; it's been shown in trailers). I liked the movie. It was a good comedic take on Hong Kong action movies. If you want to get a few good chuckles after a hard day, it is worth blowing some money. Just go see it.

Posted: 9/6/2007A review of Halloween by Giannico1
I liked the movie, but it could have been better. I like the idea that director Rob Zombie created a mythology as to why Michael Myers became who we was. That was OK. The pace as slow in the beginning, but it did pick up about one-thirds into the flick. Unlike the other HALLOWEEN flicks, this one had some blood and gore in it. The violence was more subtle in the John Carpenter versions. Zombie pushes the envelope in this adaptation. One of the female victims actually goes fully nude for the audience to gander. There was actually a lot toplessless from the ladies in the flick. I was surprised the movie got an R rating from the MPAA. Let me put it this way. It's not on the top of my list. It is still worth checking out for comparing the styles of directing between John Carpenter and Rob Zombie. I actually give it three and a half out of five stars, but the website does not give half stars. An expanded review is also available on my new MSN Spaces website at giannico1970.spaces.live.com, so take some time to check out some of the cool stuff. Take care, BGJR.

Excellent movie with plenty of action and a lot of humor. Director Michael Bay and producer Steven Spielberg hit another goldmine. Spielberg hit big as director with his rendition of H.G. Wells' WAR OF THE WROLDS back in 2005 with producer and star Tom Cruise and co-star Dakota Fanning. In this movie, we see Shia LeBeouf mature as an actor -- a very far cry from his days at Disney. He has proven his worth in movies like DISTURBIA, CONSTANTINE, and THE GREATEST GAME EVER PLAYED. He shows off his acting skills very well in this movie. Definitely, one of the best breed of new actors. On the flip side, what is with putting Anthony Anderson in this movie? He plays the same old, annoying comic relief, movie after movie after movie. He is not funny! I should give this movie four and a half stars for casting Anderson. Bernie Mac, I do like, even though he had a three minute cameo. That guy is funny! He makes the best of his time on film. All the same, I loved the movie. I had a great time watching Optimus Prime and company kick a lot of Decepticon butt. Get out there and see this movie.
