Richard Gere and Diane Lane have incredible chemistry together onscreen; more than any other movie couple I can think of, ever. This chemistry saves the movie; frankly, with anyone else, it might have been laughable. But, again thanks to the actors' obvious great affection for each other, one easily gets caught up in the whirlwind love story. The supporting cast of Scott Glenn and James Franco, among others, also bring believability in this story of imperfect people learning from each other and falling in love in the process. Those looking for a fairytale ending may be sorely disappointed; those who have seen "The Notebook" (from the same author) can expect a similar bittersweet turn of events. If you came away from that film more heartwarmed than sad, you will also enjoy this love story.

I really had low expectations for this movie; I don't like slapstick, did not "get" the other Bean movie-though I only watched a bit of it. For the first 20 minutes of this movie, I was worried that it would be a very long 87 minutes; there were some laughs but I did not see any interesting plot forming. Lo and behold, new interesting characters came into play, unexpected things happened, many of them very funny, and this turned into a really entertaining movie with a great ending. It was great to see a movie with my 12 year old that we both really enjoyed, and I didn't feel at all guilty for having taken her to it. (Unlike most tween comedies, which increasingly have really inappropriate scenes and dialogue). I would guess that if one really doesn't like subtitles, doesn't appreciate more subtle humor, or who has no idea who William Dafoe, the Cannes Film Festival, and arthouse films are, one might not get this. If you have to be hit over the head with grossout humor, sexual innuendo, and fart jokes, this is not for you. Everyone else, give this a chance, I think you'll really enjoy it. (And some incredible movies have subtitles-check out Pan's Labryinth).

My daughters and I saw this movie by default, only likely choice playing at the time we wanted. I didn't expect much, especially since I usually find Robin Williams annoying; but we all were entertained, laughed a lot, were glad we saw it. Mandy Moore and John Kracinski had good chemistry and made for a cute romantic comedy couple; Robin Williams was allowed to do just enough of his crazy stuff to be funny; and the rest of the supporting actors were well cast. This was much better that either Nancy Drew or Evan Almighty, not sure why it hasn't been promoted by the studio. It would be a great date movie, I think it's OK for teens and tweens ( if your kids watch Greys Anatomy or House, they've heard and seen similar sexual references and double entendres).

A Night at the Museum is thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. Its funny, exciting, suspenseful, heartwarming did I say funny? Its perfect for any age older folks will really enjoy seeing Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, and Anne Meara all are great in their roles. What I loved most is that it made me smile so many times and never made me uncomfortable. ( For instance, Borat was funny, but too painful to watch most of the time.) Ive never been a Ben Stiller fan, but he can be proud of this movie. Owen Wilson has a great, unbilled role as a cowboy in a miniature diorama his scenes against a Roman Gladiator figurine character are some of the funniest in the film. Go now, take every member of your family, and make sure you watch the end credits for a great number with Dick Van Dyke and friends!
