Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 4/20/2004A review of Road to Perdition by PresumedJayReb TH balances the two extremes and convincingly plays a likeable killer. Jude Law was great, too, though I felt that the role of the boy was miscast. Was this review helpful? Then here's your chance because it follwos the formula - start with random boredom, move into conflict, then end the film without resolution. If I'd seen this film in theater, I would've started a riot. Fortunately, I could replay The Whisper scene over and over again, till my wife confirmed my suspicions by saying, "It's *supposed* to be unintelligible!" So, if you don't beleive that, try the captioning!

The Club orange scene was ever so sweet, too, with those charming lyrics over the scene... Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 4/20/2004A review of Reign of Fire by PresumedJayReb You're gonna love this movie! Well, if you know nothing about the military, and can over look plot holes as big as the one the first dragon crawled out of!

Special effects were impressive, but overshadowed but HORRIBLE acting ("Alex" and "Van Chuckle") and an even worse story. Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 4/20/2004A review of The Pianist by PresumedJayReb I HATE Roman Polanski, but I still knew I had to see this, and what a tragedy it would've been had I not! One critic here says it's "pro-war" because he survived..!?! The writer must've forgotten all the otehr charcaters who didn't make it. Szpilman's story is not just a story of survival, but of rising above the loss and tragedy, rather than sinking into whining self-pity.

If you're into WWII, military/Polish history or just the resilience of the human species in the face of its own depravity, see this film!

Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 4/20/2004A review of Night of the Living Dead by PresumedJayReb Some stiff acting, but still good, and without the low-budget gaffs of the original...
