I didn't mind Sean Mesnick crying, and I didn't even mind him choosing Melissa over Molly--although I thought he and Molly were a better fit. He sounded very sincere when he proposed to Melissa. But what got me on The Bachelor After the Rose is when Melissa was talking about all the heartache she had suffered in her meager 25 years of life.
In addition, she used phrases like "I waited all my life for this." I think that was pretty good to only wait until she was 25. She needs to look around and see what is happening around her.
I was divorced at 25 and two months later my mother died. I remarried and remained so for 18 years, until my husband decided he couldn't make the commitment. If she thinks it is horrible for someone to change his mind after six weeks, she needs to think about someone changing his mind after 18 years. I have a friend who was married for 38 years and gave birth to his four children when her husband walked out on her.
So, what I am say to poor little Melissa, is GROW UP. This is just the tip of the iceberg. If this is the only heartache she ever experiences, then she is pretty lucky.
