Posted: 10/9/2005A review of X & Y by Jessica_Leigh_Neeb
Before this album was even released, I was waiting. I expected it to pass Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head in my favorite Coldplay CDs. That didn't happen. Instead, we all got a CD that makes Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head complete. Put all 3 CDs together, and you've got the best CD in the world. Coldplay proved once again that they can do it. I definitely recommend X&Y to any Coldplay fan or any fan of pop-rock music. "What If" is amazing. X&Y is moving and deserves 5 stars.

I would've never considered myslef a U2 fan until this album hit stores. Sure, I'd heard a few of their other songs and they were ok, but nothing like this. When I first the iPod commercial I was like, "Who sings that song?" It absolutely blew me away. After all the airplay Vertigo got I can say that it got a bit tiring, but the rest of the songs on the album filled in for that, with the exception of Miracle Drug. Sometimes You Cant Make it on Your Own is on of the greatest songs ever written and with Bono singing it made it even better. Crumbs From Your Table is a great song with such a great kick and Yahweh has a great message. Not only does U2 make great music, but Bono also makes a difference in the world with his work against poverty in Africa. What's not to love?
