From Robert Plants incredible voice and Jimmy Pages explosive riffs and guitar solos to the unique bass and organ playing of John Paul Jones and the stunning drum power of John Bonham.
I was really amazed when I first heard this album because when you listen to a debut album of any band you think its gonna be the worst of the all for a variety of reasons Maybe beacuse theyre just experimenting with their sound or maybe because theyre just getting to know each other, etc. Anyway I say that if you are going to start listening to Zeppelin you start by listening to this album or some tracks form it, I just cant get over Dazed and Confused and How Many More Times, both of which are my favorite tracks of this album.
If you dont like this album, you simply dont like rock. Was this review helpful? This is a stunning song with a solo and lyrics I think everyone remembers and it has been actually considered by many people as the greatest rock song ever. Despite this I personally dont consider this the best work they have, this doesnt mean its not one of the greatest rock albums out there and that its worth to listen to it again and again but if you want my opinion be smart and dont just stay with this album, but also listen to the other ones since they also have GREAT songs that are totally worth your time to listen to. Nevertheless its a great rock album with great songs, great solos, great lyrics and great music. Was this review helpful? It also contains more melodic tunes like Thank You (My personal favorite track of this album).
Even though this album os from the same year as their debut it shows a more mature Zeppelin sound because they experiment with more styles and dont just stick with the heavy sound. A must have for your collection, like every other Zeppelin album ever made. Was this review helpful? Honestly I think that the new stuff was not as good as the old stuff and that should have sticked with that style. Was this review helpful? This is the last LP they were together before John Bohnam died, I think this album shows a side of Led Zeppelin no one had seen since Led Zeppelin III (another kick ass album) only this album is more blues and country instead of the acoustic of Led Zeppelin III. I consider that the people out there who call themselves Led Zeppelin Fans that just stick with first albums because old the heavy stuff are not TRUE Zeppelin Fans because theyre not willing to see the other face of Led Zeppelin. I reccommend this if youre not in the mood for the heavy Zeppelin stuff and you want something soothing for a change. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-6 of 6 Per Page |
