It didn't even resemble a Halloween movie at times. I almost felt like Rob Zombie was forced to make this movie and he wanted to purposely stray from the theme and feel of the Halloween franchise. The only "Scary" parts were from Zombie's constant volume changes. The sound would go from quiet to very loud just to try to make it scary. The movie itself wasn't really doing it. I had such high hopes for this one. I enjoyed Zombie's take on the 1st one, but maybe he should have stopped there. I will take John Carpenter's versions over Zombie's any day. I think Mustapha Akaad is rolling over in his grave. Was this review helpful? I thought it was a good movie with some good scare scenes in the second half. The childhood take on Michael was interesting. There wasn't the hide and seek with Michael as much in this movie and I thought that was a great benefit to the first one. Zombie did a good job and I look forward to seeing the next one.
