I should have stuck with my instincts and known they couldn't captivate you on the big screen for a full length movie with that plot. I went to see it at the theater because I thought the ocean scenes would be eye candy. It wasn't that kind of movie. It was definitely all about the story line and not the effects. It would be a decent rental but don't waste your money seeing it at the theater. Was this review helpful? Johnny Depp was the perfect person to play the lead character and did an awesome job. What a talent he is! All of the other actors in the movie were perfect as well. The movie, like the book, keeps you guessing and keeps you on your toes. They did a great job with one of my favorite stories. Was this review helpful? I was never a Jennifer Gardner fan until I saw this movie. She's adorable. The movie had a great message, was funny, believable, and just fun. We bought the movie as soon as it came out and now we all, including my husband (who is and actioin movie guy) and my 6 and 4 year old daughters watch it all the time. If you grew up in the 80's, you'll love the soundtrack. Was this review helpful? It got such good reviews, I thought it would be action packed and the dialog would be witty. They showed all the funny parts and good action scenes in the trailer. The story line was fairly decent but the movie was confusing. I still have no idea what went on that club. Save your money and see it on video. Was this review helpful? But, I thought it was pretty good. It had a decent, interesting story line. I didn't really see the unnecessary gore some of the readers mentioned. We saw it on video and it was very good. I'm a Nicole Kidman fan, but don't care for Renee Zellwegger or Jude Law. All of the actors did an excellent job and the story line was good.
