You feel like you're sitting right there in the audience during the gameshow scenes hoping this kid gets all the answers correct. The acting was fabulous! My 11 year old even liked the movie considering the content. I agree, this movie was not accurately rated by the critics. I always read user reviews before seeing a movie, and this movie proved the same. Please go see this movie. Yes, it is sad, but it helps us all, no matter our age, to look at our lives differently. The funny parts will wipe away the tears. Somehow everyday problems just don't seem to matter when you look at the whole picture. All the actors and actresses play their roles so wonderfully. It's a "feel good" movie. Good laughs. The little girl was great, and she wasn't an annoying character like some kids in movies. It had a good story line and a bit of a twist regarding the mother. If you are a very conservative parent, there is a scene that takes place in a nightclub that you may frown on. I was fine with it. We can't wait until it comes out on DVD. We will buy it. Don't spend your time or money. Didn't like it from the get go. Kept thinking it was going to get better. Absolutely couldn't wait for it to get over.
